You walked quickly towards the forbidden forest making sure to take the route that was less visible by the Hogwarts windows. You approached the trees, fear growing immensely in your head. Your heart started to beat rapidly. You knew if you got lost or stuck, nobody would find you. You could almost smell the lingering danger but ignored it, nonetheless. You took a final deep breath and walked into the forest.

You paced through the forest muttering to yourself, as you did when you were nervous, the necklace clutched in your shivering hands. You weren't cold, but the fear of the forest was terrifying. You wondered why you weren't scared when you were hunting, but you were now. Sure, you were scared at the beginning of the hunting trip, but then Malfoy came and...

You scowled at yourself.

That bloody git didn't calm me down. My mind is just being reckless.

You half convinced yourself in your head. Your thoughts ran in circles. You could feel your mind starting  to boggle. Suddenly, you heard something growl. Your heart skipped a beat and your grip on your wand was so tight that you almost broke it. Somehow you felt braver now you knew something was there. You shoved the necklace in your pocket and moved towards the noise.

You heard the growls growing louder and louder. Your heart was beating in your throat. You walked on and on, wand at the ready. Suddenly the harsh growls stopped. You couldn't see anything. "Lumos." You muttered. You looked up and right in front of your face was a drooling, giant troll.

You screamed and ducked as the troll swung its giant bat at you. You ran backwards and saw it following suit. You jumped down and ran behind it. This troll however did not seem as stupid as the other ones you've encountered. It turned instantly and lunged at your wand. You screamed and pointed your wand at it. "Petrificus Totalus!" You screamed. The troll flew back on to a tree, but did not paralyse. It was stunned for a couple of seconds, but just as it did before, the troll ran at you, swinging its bat savagely. You dodged it again but it dropped its bat and grabbed your arms, pinned you down. It reached for your wand and snatched it, then chucked it to the side. It was leaning in to bite your head off- "Expelliarmus!" You heard a voice yell. A jet of red light impacted the troll and it spun right into a nearby tree. You turned to see a sweaty, highly attractive Cedric. He had jeans and a Hufflepuff yellow jumper. He ran his fingers through his, now, messy hair and even though it was extremely attractive, you were still extremely, well, pissed off. "CEDRIC?!" You screamed. "WHAT THE BLOODY MERLIN ARE YOU DOING HERE, YOU IDIOTIC GIT?!" You raged. Cedric didn't even look at you, he was looking behind you. "Watch out!" He yelled. You turned around and saw the troll. It picked you up. You couldn't deal with it and threw a hissy fit. "THATS IT. I'VE HAD ENOUGH! GET YOUR BLOODY HANDS OFF OF ME! YOU'VE PISSED ME OFF! YOU'RE JUST AS BAD AS MALFOY! EVEN WORSE MAYBE! I'M JUST TRYING TO SAVE SOME BLOODY LIVES, DAMNIT! YOU MEN ARE ALWAYS IN MY BLOODY BUSINESS! NOW GET OFF OF ME!" You screeched at the troll, swearing a lot in between. Surprisingly, the troll looked at you strangely and lowered you to the ground slowly. He winced, sounding like an apology, and sat down on the forest floor obediently. You stared, beyond shocked, for a matter of seconds then turned on your heel to see Cedric with the same expression.

"Explain." You huffed, face red with fury. Cedric looked back at you. "Only if you explain after me." He scowled. You realised that he did also have the right to an explanation. You nodded reluctantly. "Alright, I saw you with Malfoy this morning and the hurry you were in to leave, so when I saw you rush back in the common room to grab your wand, I knew you were up to something, as usual. So I followed you, in Harry's invisibility cloak." Cedric said, then picking up the limp cloak. "I was worried you were going to do something that would get yourself killed, you know, with your incredibly irresistible yet reckless personality." Cedric said, smiling shyly. You couldn't help but blush scarlet. You sighed. "I guess I do owe you an explanation." You mumbled. You told him everything about the necklace, everything but where you found it, you simply said you found it on the floor in the castle. Cedric just stared at you, his mouth agape. "So that thing has the power to kill people with magical love?" Cedric muttered, pointing a shaking hand at the necklace. You nodded. You looked up at the necklace, inspecting it. "I wonder how it got in fil- THE- castle." You mumbled. Cedric furrowed and un furrowed his brow. He looked too deep in thought that it seemed that he didn't hear you. You ignored him and turned towards the troll. "I need you to swallow this." You told it, gesturing eating the necklace. It's eyes opened wide. Then it nodded, it seemed as if he knew that you'd go psycho if it didn't do what you said. You patted it on the head and pulled the necklace out of your pocket. A folded piece of parchment fell out of your pocket. The locket heart was open, it seemed that the parchment came out of the locket. You slowly unfolded the piece of parchment and started to read it.

Today or tomorrow, Odium will come.
Knowing King Julian made a mistake, a fatal one.
Love cannot be created, only obsession,
So truly, nothing would cure the king's depression.
His desire for love was desperate and cruel,
So he took a chance that made him to be a fool.
You see that Odium could never create love, so he improvised,
He created an obsession that you cannot break or compromise.
That obsession was kept in a locket, small in size,
That would interfere with the fates of five.

You stared at the parchment, eyes wide in shock. "Cedric... read this." You passed him the parchment. You watched his eyes go as wide as saucers. He read and ran his fingers through his hair. He stopped reading and looked up at you. "Get rid of it, now." Cedric murmured. You nodded and walked towards the troll. It had a rock beside it, so you clambered on it and stood over the troll. The troll opened his mouth wide and tilted its head up. You dropped the necklace down the Troll's throat. It gagged at first, but swallowed. It looked at you and smiled a toothy grin. You smiled back and thanked the troll. You turned and walked towards Cedric. He stared at you with an unreadable expression then gave you a surprise big bear hug. "You're so amazing, y/n." Cedric whispered in your ear. You blushed bright pink. "So are you.." you whispered back.

"Awww."

You turned round to see the troll covering its mouth. You couldn't help but laugh. "Shall we go Cedric?" You asked him. He smiled down at you. "Of course." You smiled and waved at the troll. It waved back. You still couldn't believe you tamed a troll.

                                        ☁︎︎

Both you and Cedric emerged from the forest, talking as if you had knew each other for years. You were so close, walking side by side, hands almost touching. Although you were happy, you couldn't help but feel guilty, like you were in another relationship or something. "I could do with a bit of breakfast, you?" Cedric asked you, looking at you with his signature smile. "I could do with some sleep, I'm knackered." You replied, yawning. Cedric laughed then nudged your shoulder with his shoulder playfully. "What should I tell the others?" Cedric asked, as you approached the castle. "Tell them we went fishing, we'd never catch anything even if we tried." You mumbled. He laughed again. "You want me to come with you?" He asked, turning to face you. "No, you go eat." You mumbled, smiling weakly. You both waved goodbye to each other and parted. You walked into an empty common room. You thanked Merlin and walked up the common room stairs to your dorm. Preparing to surrender to the amazing dreams you were about to have.
