I Warned You

I warned you, did I not?
To never go there,
To always play fair.

Now look at you.
Peace eludes you,
She mocks you.

Peace now stands away from you.
A distant memory,
A separate entity.

You were once one and the same.
Now you are conflicted within.
Peace no longer knows your name.

You wish to blame me,
But I saw what you couldn't see.

I warned you, did I not?
To keep the light within,
To have one less sin.

Pain,

Tears,

Regret,

They follow you around in a sickening stench.
Lack of control in that one moment,

Now your biggest lament.

I warned you, did I not?
To keep your hands clean,
To allow peace to reign.

Peace has no room for you.
You made room for war.

Embrace it,

Accept it,

It is now your chore.

Peace is forgiving, that much is true.

But your time has not come,
You must atone, you know what to do.

I warned you, did I not?
It came from a place of love
You accepted it from a place of hate

You have brought about your own ruin.

But when the time comes,

Will you let peace back in?

Will you let peace back in?
