Months had gone by since Levi was discovered by the world to be a Titan shifter. In that time the walls had been destroyed and, surprisingly, you had many new cadets join the scouts. Among those new cadets was a young boy, Eren, who was also a Titan shifter just like Levi.
You would have thought that somewhere inside of the grumpy coal haired man he would be happy to no longer be alone, but you were wrong. Levi was pissed. Not at the fact that he was a Titan shifter, but because Eren had lost control of his Titan form and because Levi was now being forced into doing experiments with the boy. Not only that but Levi had taken some of the backlash from Eren losing control and it was grating on him.
If you were honest, you were a bit ticked with the experiments because Erwin had assigned you head observer, basically you had to make sure Hange didn't go too over board when doing said experiments. It was a huge pain in the ass for you as you had recently been promoted to a captain, with you new squad, excess paperwork and now head experiment observer free time wasn't really a concept to you.
"Why have I got to run around with that little asshole, I have things to do" Levi was ranting to himself as you both made your way out to the rest area. "And why do you have to be there? That little shit is going to lose control and kill you, if that happens the people inside the walls really will be in danger"
A small giggle left your lips causing Levi to turn on you "what are you laughing for, this is serious. If that brat loses control I'll beat him worse than I did in court, that little fucker that little..."
"Levi!" You laughed again "you've given the poor kid about 5 different vulgar nicknames in the past thirty seconds. Not only that but I think your just stressing yourself out now"
He grumbled to himself like a child sulking, something he would only do in front of you so you continued "plus I'll have my ODM gear, if you think some inexperienced boy can kill me then you have less faith in me than I thought."
"I do have faith in you... I'm just worried" he responded not meeting your eye.
You went to respond but before you could you were interrupted by Hange "hey! Guys! We're over here" she was yelling running across the field dragging a struggling Eren behind her.
"Come on, the faster you start this the faster you'll end this" you kicked up into a run Levi following.
*Time Skip*
After giving Levi a tight hug, you had to stand by Hange and watch closely. This time around, Levi would have to be in his Titan form for the entire day doing different tasks. This is a complete waste of my time, doesn't Erwin know how much paperwork I have to do, you thought. Levi wasn't too happy about this either which can't have been a good feeling for Hange as she received both of your glares.
"Awe... don't frown (Y/N). You'll get wrinkles you know" Hange's voice came from beside you.
You sent her a look and she flinched away laughing, when you turned back to the two titans you noticed that Levi was watching you closely, when he realised that you were looking at him, he came over and knelt before you. You smiled as he opened his palm inviting you to climb in and you did with a smile.
He then stood again and brought you up level with his chest. You sat comfortably completely, trusting him especially when he reached his other hand up, gently stroking and patting your head with one of his giant fingers. You relaxed immediately, your annoyance bubbling away, it was crazy the effect that this man had on you.
But the moment was broke. "Awe that's so cute!" Hange squeaked instantly scribbling down notes.
Levi huffed his breath making your hair fly "ugh Levi your Titan breath stinks" you laughed.
"He rolled his eyes turning his head away from you to look at Eren, your also turned to look. Eren was watching you both closely, a bit too intensely for your liking, uncomfortably looking at you. You didn't understand why, it was well known in the scouts that you two were together, so why was he looking at you like that.
Out do the corner of your eye you could see Hange furiously scribbling down notes, a crazed look in her eye and her tongue sticking out of her mouth in concentration. Underneath all the craziness though you could tell that there was a slight hint of jealously in her eyes at Levi picking you up. But you ignored it turning back to Levi, but he wasn't looking at you.
Levi was glaring at Eren harshly, his lips curled back into a snarl his eyes sharp. Levi hated the way that Eren was looking at you both, but it was probably less because he was looking and more because he was worried that Eren would lose control.
You moved up into your knees and shuffled over to Levi's thumb, you knew exactly how to calm this man down. You wrapped your arms around his thumb and looking up at his face doing your best puppy dog eyes, you saw Levi's eyes shot to you while softening. Once you were sure he was looking at you, you changed to a wide innocent smile.
"Don't hurt him Levi, he's just a kid and he's probably just curious" you spoke in a sweet voice.
Levi fully turned to you, his eyes blown wide with surprise, this was a bit of an underhanded tactic that you were using. Levi 'humphed' and you could see a blush rising up on his big Titan cheeks, you giggled a blush rising on your own cheeks.
Levi nodded, bashful, telling you that he would at least slightly back off, as a voice came from beside you "ummm we're still here you know... me and Eren... Over here... kiss later."
You jumped your head spinning over to Hange you cringed and groaned curling into an embarrassment ball in Levi's palm trying to hide. You groaned as your body heated up, you felt yourself get lifted higher so that you were level and close to his face.
With a quick glance out of your ball you could see that Levi had curled his fingers up so that you were hidden, you smiled and crawled over to him giving him a quick kiss, before he let you back into the ground. You cleared your throat and then straightened your clothes, before making your way over to Hange who had a big smirk on her face.
"Continue with the experiment" you professionally said.
*Time Skip*
You checked the time, 11 at night the experiment must be over now, you thought eyes moving back to your paperwork. Erwin had come to you in the middle of the day to tell you that you can leave the experiment and return to your mountain of paperwork, you immediately said 'thank you' and left to do it, letting someone of Erwin's choice take over your job for the day.
But now you were lonely. Usually you and Levi would do paperwork, taking it in turns to get tea for each other. But you didn't have Levi. Unlike you, he could escape the torturous experiment and he was probably pissed. He hated being a test subject just generally.
The stomping footsteps slowing getting louder confirmed this, you put down your paperwork and looked at the door giving it your full attention. You placed a smile on your face as the door was basically slammed open by Levi, his face was blank with a small crease in his forehead, this told you that he was angry. Very angry.
"How was the experiment after I left?" You asked.
But Levi didn't say anything, instead he walked over to you pushed out your chair and lifted you over his shoulder so your face was level with his ass "Levi! What's gotten into you?"
"Punishing you" was all he said.
"What why?" You squeaked
"You think you can get away with teasing me like that in front of Hange and Eren" he growled.
