Chapter 15

The next morning at Breakfast everyone was talking about the fight last night. I got interrogated by all my friends, showing sympathy for Draco in each story told.

"Well, I have to admit, I never thought that Malfoy was the type." Seamus thought aloud.

Cedric then ran up to the Slytherin table and then to me.

"Nyx, are you alright?" He said examining my cheek.

"Cedric, I'm fine, especially compared to Zabini down there." I raised my eyebrows and we both looked down the table. Zabini had a big black eye and his cheek and lip were both cut.

"Yeah, well, he definitely deserved it. How did you manage to get away?" He asked sitting down. Some Slytherins were eyeing him differently, probably because he was a Hufflepuff.

"Well, Malfoy came and tackled him to the ground. He was defending me I guess, but I do owe him now."

"Oh, well that was nice of him to defend you, very shocking, but nice. Are you going to the second task tomorrow?" He asked.

"Of course I am what kind of a question is that? Anyone home?" I tapped his head and we both smiled. "By the way, where is it being held, I haven't heard anything?"

"It's being held at the black lake, we have to complete the task under the water. I'm using a bubble charm, but don't tell anyone, it's a secret." He winked.

Today was the second task and I knew I had to get all my homework done before that or I would be screwed. I went to the library and finished the final sentence to my History of Magic essay. It was very early in the morning and I was tired, so I packed up and began down the hall only to be stopped by Professor McGonagall.

"Miss Thyme, I am going to ask you to come with me, into Professor Dumbledore's office. You are not in trouble or anything related to the sort, everything will be explained when we get there." I followed her up to Dumbledore's office only to find that Hermione, Ron, and Gabrielle (Fleur's sister) were waiting also.

"Ahh, now that we have everyone hear, Mr. Crouch is here to explain what is happening." Dumbledore spoke and Mr. Crouch began talking.

"Now, students. We have brought you here in order to have the second task in progress. What will happen is we will put a body binding curse on each of you to help you breathe underwater for an hour. During that hour, each of the champions will be finding their way to save you. Miss Granger you are here in order for Viktor Krum, Mr. Weasley for Harry Potter, Miss Delecour for Fleur Delecour and Miss Thyme for Cedric Diggory. Now, if they do not save you during that hour, you are put in slight danger due to merpeople, but we do have trained professionals there to get you after, if for any reason that should happen. Any questions?" He summed it up. Everybody stayed silent. "Alright, we will now be putting the body binding curses on you." Each of the teachers stood before a student and muttered the curse. After that everything was black.
