The next month was so boring. Nothing new came, except one thing. It was a few days before the last and final task. I walked into the Great Hall for breakfast and sat at my usual seat.

"Hey guys, what's going on?" I asked them. It was Seamus, Harry, Dean, Neville, Ron, Hermione, Ginny and the twins all sitting there. They looked like they were hiding something from me. None of them said a word but ignored me and continued eating their food.

"Come on guys, what are you hiding?" still no answer.

"Guys!" I yelled as Cedric came up to my left side. "Oh, hey Ced! What are you doing?"

"Well, I was just wondering if I could talk to you?"

"Sure." I smiled up at him and stood up. His hair was always messy, but it looked good on him.

"Alright, so. I don't really know how to say this because I don't want to ruin anything, but just please hear me out." He looked nervous.

"Okay." I said pressuring him to continue.

"Nyx, the day I met you on the train, do you remember?"

"Yes, of course. That was one of the best days of my life, but please, continue." I folded my arms across my chest listening intently. He took big breath.

"Look, it's more complicated than you think. Nyx, I-I've been thinking about our relationship and what good friends we are and I just really needed to tell you that well, um..." He scratched the back of his neck.

"Cedric, it's okay, you can tell me, and you do trust me right? I won't think of you any differently for whatever you're going to say." I grinned at him taking his hand.

"Okay, well, I guess it's easier to show you how I feel, than to tell you." The next thing I knew, Cedric's lips were on mine. I thought about it for a second. Cedric liked me like that? When he kissed me, sparks when off. Once again I heard wolf whistles and other kind of 'oohs' and 'ohhs'. Cedric and I had always held hands and comforted each other, but it was never this. I couldn't help but kiss back. I finally realized that I liked Cedric too. I broke off the kiss when I thought back to Cho.

"Cedric, what about Cho?"

"She's in the past, I never really loved her. When I found you at the bottom of the lake and you were all weak and not moving, at that moment I knew how I really felt about you and ever since I've been trying to pluck up enough courage to tell you." He paused. "I've known you long enough to say that I love you Anyxus Thyme and I know I'm moving fast, but I just wanted you to know." He beamed down at me. I looked into his eyes and knew that he was telling the truth, he really did love me, and I think I loved him too. I got on my tippy toes and once again kissed him lightly.

"I think I love you too Cedric. I think I always have, I just never realized it until now." And I meant every word. I hugged Cedric before he walked off and I looked down at my friends, they were all smiling. That must have been why they were ignoring me.

"Is that why you guys were ignoring me? Because you knew what Cedric was going to do?" I grumpily folded my arms.

"Yes, but wasn't it worth the wait, I mean, you and Cedric are perfect together. It was bound to happen sooner or later." Ginny commented. I sat back down and looked over at the Hufflepuff table to see Cedric smiling at me. I quickly smiled at him and blushed looking the other way down my table. Malfoy's glare on me was horrid; it looked like he was going to murder something.

The next couple of days were the best days of my life! I think that being with Cedric gave me hope, hope that someday I could get away from all the evil haunting me. It was the morning of the third task and from what I hear; it's going to be a maze. That sounds easy, but I bet it isn't.

I strolled into the Great Hall for breakfast and greeted Cedric with a peck on the lips.

"Hello, how are you?" I asked cheerfully.

"Great, now that you're here." He gleamed down at me. Cedric was so good to me. I am so much happier with him, he helps me keep my mind off of horrible things. He leaned down and kissed me passionately. We really didn't care if anybody saw us, we were in love.

"Ugh, get a room, I'm sure Anyxus here would love to show you hers, being the slutty whore that she is." We broke from our kiss and turned to see Malfoy with his infamous glare on us. I glared back.

"What did you just call her Malfoy?" Cedric started to get angry.

"Cedric, just leave it." I whispered. Draco slowly walked forwards.

"I called her by her proper name, a slutty whore." He smirked at us. I held on to Cedric, but he broke away from my grip and walked up to Malfoy with his wand in his hand.

"Don't you ever call her that again, do you understand?" He growled. Draco's expression didn't change.

"Oh yeah, and what are you going to do about it, Diggory?" He went on. Cedric looked turned his shoulder and started walking back to me, but jerked back around and punched Malfoy in the nose. Draco fell to the floor.

"Cedric!" I yelled over him. I ran over to Cedric who was kicking Malfoy on the ground. I put my hand on Cedric's shoulder. "Cedric, stop!" I once again shouted. He turned around to face me.

"Why?! He deserves it; did you hear what he called you?" He protested strongly.

"Because, it's wrong, and you know it! So what if he called me a slutty whore, that doesn't give you the right to beat him senseless!" I argued with him. His face softened. He then hugged me.

"I'm sorry, Nyx. It's just when people say or do things like that to you, I have a need to defend you."

"I know Cedric, just try and be more reasonable." I broke the hug and looked him in the eyes.

"Are you sure you're in Slytherin?" He smiled joking around. I chuckled lightly at him.

"I'm pretty damn sure, Ced." I grinned and left the Hall with him walking hand in hand. I was finally happy.
