Walking back from school was a relieve after such a long day. It was your birthday today, but it seems like no one even noticed. Your best friend didn't even say Happy birthday to you. You sighed, tired. Wanting to just fall asleep on your bed and call it a day. But of course, the homework. Slamming the door shut, you walk inside and went straight to your bedroom. Why did everyone forget your birthday? Not even your parents said anything this morning. You plopped down on your desk and took out your phone.

No texts. No texts from anyone, saying happy birthday. No texts from Niall, your boyfriend. Not even your boyfriend remembered your birthday. He was on tour for the past 3 months, but he could have at least said a happy birthday. You tossed your phone to your bed carelessly and bent your head down into your desk.

Feeling a tear drop slowly gliding down your cheek onto your desk, you quickly wiped it away and sniffled. The only reason why your not telling everyone is because you wanted them to remember, and you didn't want to sound like an annoying, clingy girl. So instead, you sucked it up and pretended like nothing is happening.

After a while of doing your homework, you heard loud bangs from downstairs. Furrowing your eyebrows in confusion, you stood up. No one's suppose to be home. Your mom's at work and your dad's at an appointment. So who's downstairs? Your heart nearly jumped out of your chest as you slowly reached out a trembling hand to your door knob.

Twisting it ever so slowly, you opened the door and peered outside. What if it's a robber? A murderer? Could it be a kidnapper? All these questions wondered around your head as you stepped out of your safe room and into the hallway, tip toeing towards the kitchen. When you got there, you heard a few whispers but the light was off. You looked around the room nervously trying to catch any sight of movement but instead, you saw something hanging on the chair. A balloon? "SURPRISE!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY HALEY!!!"

Everyone jumped out at you and you leaped back a little at the sudden burst of sound. The light flicked on as everyone revealed themselves. "What...." You slowly said laughing a little. So that's why no one was taking notice of you today! "You guys! Almost gave me a heart attack!" You say laughing along with them. "Happy birthday Haley!" Your best friend says slinging an arm around your shoulders. "Happy birthday hon, c'mon! Sit down." Your mom says kissing you on the cheek. You smiled widely as you took a seat.

~~~~Later that night~~~~

"So Haley, we have a final present for you." Leslie says. "Huh?" You cocked your eyebrows in confusion. You thought you had already opened them all after ripping up all the packaging. "Ya, this present isn't wrapped up, sorry. But, we did put a bow on it." She says giggling like a drunk. "Yaaaaa?" You say. Suddenly, a person walks into the room. You turn your head around to get a better look, instead, your eyes nearly pop out of their sockets. Your boyfriend, Niall, was standing by the kitchen doorway.

"NIALL!!" You screamed nearly pushing your chair down as you sprinted towards him. Hugging him in the tightest way possible when you reached him. "Happy birthday Haley." He whispers into your ears, kissing you on the cheek. "OMG OMG OMG how are you here? What omg!!" You say after releasing him. "We're on break so I thought I'd pay you a visit." He says continuously pecking your lips. "Oh my gosh, thank you!" You say hugging him again. "Oh by the way Haley, this surprise was his idea" Another one of your friends say. "Really, wow Niall, thanks!" You say. "Your welcome haha." He says hugging you back. "But c'mon, who's the best boyfriend in the world?" He asked you wriggling his eyebrows. You roll your eyes, he does this every time. "You are."
