"Are you done playing this masquerade?" Jin questioned slightly irritated, upper body leaning on Taehyung's window. The latter scoffed incredulously.

"I don't know what you're talking about hyu-"

"Cut the crap, Taehyung. I know why you're here."

Taehyung tried to maintain his brother in law's glare for a moment before he sighed in defeat. Of course he would know. He was Kim Seokjin after all.

"It's not what you're thinking about."

"Oh so you're here to accept Jeon Jungkook as your lifetime mate and finally get your shit together?"

Taehyung refuses to answer that.

"Right."

Jin opened the passenger door and got inside Taehyung's Hyundai Palissade. It was his and Namjoon's graduation gift the alpha. At that time, they really thought Taehyung would never find his true mate and they were slightly accepting his relationship status- whichever they were- with Jimin.

However, things started to become slightly concerning when Taehyung started acting more.. submissive.

Jin had- accidentally- overhead the duo talk on different occasions while in Taehyung's bedroom and he couldn't believe how Jimin who was a beta would dominate an alpha the way he did.
Jin even caught them kissing once in the kitchen when they thought no one was there and all he could remember was Jimin's hand clasped on Taehyung's jawline firmly while he had his tongue in the taller's mouth.
He couldn't have imagined the slightly high pitched mewl that left Taehyung's mouth.

Taehyung couldn't be with Jimin as Jimin was suppressing Taehyung's alpha side. A wolf born as an alpha cannot be dominated by a lower rank wolf because that will simply cause them to become ill overtime.
They will weaken and their wolf would slowly start dying.
An alpha would only lose a battle of dominance against another alpha.
Otherwise it means the human overpowered the wolf instead of letting the normal balance between the two play out. And the wolf, as strong as it can be, might eventually start weakening until it dies.

Jin tried to talk to Taehyung first. He wanted to know if the relationship he had with Jimin was serious, wether he plans on mating with him.
He knew he had to get an answer so he can start warning him.
Except Taehyung refused to cooperate.

Taehyung refused to do many things while growing up without his parents and with only his brother and Jimin by his side at that time.
He firstly turned down alpha training because that would've meant spending less time with Jimin. So he simply rejected the training all together. And Jin strongly believed that it might've been the cause to his wavering dominance.
He also refused to mate with Jimin.

You see, when Taehyung once had a face to face with the Alpha and Luna of the pack during his eighteenth birthday, they asked him why he wouldn't date Jimin since the two have been impossibly close even for a normal pair of best friends. But Taehyung was adamant on staying single and waiting for his mate.

The idea was eventually thrown out the window a couple years after and Jimin and Taehyung were even closer than ever. Namjoon started literally blackmailing Taehyung into starting his Alpha training just in case he actually mated with Jimin, his dominant wolf wouldn't suffer.

It eventually all started to head for the better until Jungkook came into the picture.

Jin wanted to hate the ravenette for appearing so suddenly and so awefully late in their lives but couldn't find it in him to despise the innocent, warm-hearted alpha.

Seokjin knew about Taehyung and Jimin's new living arrangements at the dorms, he also knew about their weird make out sessions and unhealthy consumption of weed and he wondered if Jungkook didn't actually come at the perfect time to save them both from a life they would have come to regret at a certain point.

Now, sitting beside the brown haired alpha who was playing with his fingers with guilt discreetly painting his face, he wanted to tell him just how much of a mistake he was about to commit. But Seokjin knew. He knew how difficult it was going to be convincing the brunette otherwise.
He also knew how strong the bond between mates was, especially mates who were held separate for this long.
It was going to make them suffer being away from each other.

"Taehyung?"

"Hm?"

"You can't reject Jungkook."

The brunette sighed longingly. He knew this was coming anyways.

"I know you don't want either of us to suffer Hyung. But I am suffering right now! I finally know my exact feelings for Jimin and he's the one I want as a mate for the rest of my life, not Jungkook!"

"You didn't even give him a chance, Tae. You don't even know him!"
Jin was facing the younger with a pleading expression.

"And what about Jimin, huh? What if I choose not to reject him? What will happen to Jimin then??"

Taehyung glossy eyes were round and his hands were slightly pulling on his hair. He was feeling the indeniable sense of panic overtake him. Right, his anxiety... Jin hasn't forgotten.
He took his dongsaeng's hands in his and made him look him in the eyes, slowly initiating him to breathe in and out at a steady pace.

"Jimin is your best friend. Your soulmate. But Jungkook is your chosen mate, Tae. He needs you and you need him. Jimin is not going to die if you don't mate him. Maybe he will find his mate too, who knows.."

No one talked after Jin's statement. Taehyung who had actual tears in his eyes only stared forward. He was in fact hurting. Whenever he sleeps beside Jimin in bed, kisses him or even hugs him, his throat would clog up and his chest would constrict. He would feel like crying, like he ran a marathon and his body hurts.
He could only imagine how Jungkook feels on the other side.
He wanted to end this torment so badly. He wanted to reject him and get back to how his life was supposed to be like. Happily mates with Jimin. But for some odd reason, the thought of that life left a sour aftertaste in his mouth.

"I don't know much about what's going on in his life. But I can tell you that Jungkook is going through some very hard time at the moment. He wouldn't be able to properly accept your rejection even if he tries to. So forget about it for now, alright?"

Taehyung only nodded in response, mind wondering about Jungkook's source of problems without even trying to stop himself. He felt guilty in wanting to reject the boy without giving him the chance to get to know him. And this guilt didn't sit well with the brunette although he swallowed it anyways.

"And if you want my advice, don't rush things with Jungkook. Your bond will hurt you as much as you try to consume it with someone else. So why don't you just take a small break with Jimin and get to actually know Jungkook? Go out, talk it out, know more about his backstory. I know he's an alpha as well which was really surprising. In my whole existence I've actually never heard about two alpha mates. Maybe you can start by searching about that as well."

Jin's voice was soft and reassuring. Taehyung's whole body loosened while listening to his Luna's wise words. It always happens when there was something important going on with Taehyung's life, Jin would first try and talk to him as his brother figure, the person who practically raised him. And when things get tougher,he switches to his status of their pack's Luna with wise and very delicate words. And it always works wonders.

A sigh left the alpha's lips when's his mind cleared up from the fogginess he developed at last, and he could finally see things a little bit clearer.

"Thank you, Luna."
