"Emma!" Ashton exclaims as I enter his room.

"Happy birthday." I smile, a light chuckle escaping my lips as he runs over to hug me.

"I'm so old." He pouts.

"I know."

"You're supposed to tell me I'm not." He frowns, pulling away from me.

"Well you are twenty now so..."

He sighs, "Yea, I'm old."

"Ashton, come on." I chuckle. "You're not old."

"I feel old." He frowns.

"Oh shut up." I mutter.

"You're still a teenager, you just don't understand." He smirks.

I roll my eyes, "Really?"

"Oh, wait, I needed to talk to you. Tonight Luke, Calum and I are going to a party I know going to parties isn't your favourite thing, but Michael isn't coming. So you can come or hang out with Michael. I promise I'll be back before my birthday is over so we can be together, okay?"

"I think I might just stay back. But don't feel bad, enjoy your birthday. Have fun, Ashton." I force a smile.

"I'm really sorry." He whispers.

"Hey, don't feel bad. It's fine." I tell him.

"No, I should tell them I'm not going." He replies.

"Ashton, you're going to go. It's your birthday, and you need to go out and have fun with your friends, okay?"

He sighs, "Emma..."

"I promise I'll be okay. You can go out." I chuckle.

"Fine." He mutters.

"Be happy. It's your birthday." I tell him.

"I am. I just kinda wanted to be with you today."

-

"We're gonna get so wasted and Ashton here is totally going to get laid." Calum slurs, Luke helping him downstairs.

"Why is he already drunk?" I question.

"He just- he's not doing too well." Luke chuckles.

"Emma? What did you give Ashton for his birthday? Or are you giving it to him tonight, you know." Calum laughs.

"Oh my god." I mumble, hiding my face with my hands.

Ashton just smacks Calum upside the head.

"You want it so bad, Ashton!" Calum exclaims, as he continues to laughs.

"I think it's time we head out." Luke says.

Ashton walks over to me and frowns, "Are you sure?"

"Go. I'll see you later." I tell him.

Once they finally leave I sigh, and Michael comes downstairs.

"Well it looks like it's just us." He says, walking into the kitchen.

"I need to go smoke." I mutter.

I head outside, just staring off, and Michael joins me with a beer in his hand.

As I take a drag, Michael looks over at me, "So, you and Ashton..."

I just roll my eyes.

"You know, Ashton doesn't stop talking about you." He says, taking a swig of his beer.
