The only reason why Jeremy regretted being at Jamie's reunion was because of her friends. They would fake a smile at him, but in their minds they would say the nastiest things about him. Gavin was the worst, he would try to outsmart him s but unfortunately for him none of his tricks worked. Jeremy would always find a way to prove him wrong, so Gavin tried another tactic.
"Hey Jeremy, want to play some pool?" he said pointing with his head the pool table resting on the living room.
"Sure. " Jeremy asked confidently.
"Have you played before?" Gavin asked hiding his cockiness.
"To be honest no, but I do know the rules. And I'm willing to try anything new. "
Jeremy would try his best and show this guy he was not someone to be messed with. He would regret it.
"Wanna bet?" Gavin asked.
"Gavin, why are you being so obnoxious?" Jamie said looking at him.
"I'm not. I just want to have some fun with Jeremy. "
"Fine, let's play as pairs. I'm teaming Jeremy. " Jamie said grabbing one of the sticks.
Jeremy had to bit his lip to contain the laughter when seeing Gavin's face, somehow his tricks would always hit him in the face.
Paige regretted not having all her clothes with her, she was looking for something to wear that would impress Dylan's mother. She decided for a navy blue draped dress with round neck and short sleeves, pairing it with her black heels. As she putting on some make up Jessica came inside and gave an impressed whistle when seeing her.
"Where are you going to dressed like that?" Jessica asked crossing her arms and studying her from head to toes.
"I'm meeting Dylan's mom. " Paige said putting her makeup on her purse.
"Wow, you two guys are quick. How many times have you been out? Can't believe you're meeting his mom already."
"Not in that way, his mom is a designer and hopefully I can be an intern there. Dylan helped me arrange a meeting with her."
"Huh, I just thought you made it oficial. You two seem to get quite along. Why not?" Jessica asked sitting on her bed.
"We are friends only, he has never made a move on me either. "
"You have a crush on him, why don't you tell him?" Jessica said crossing her legs.
"I have never been lucky in love, I had a huge crush on a guy on my high school for two years and he never noticed me. And I was to shy to talk with him. Now I don't want to risk my friendship with Dylan. Things could change between us if he feels differently. "
"I just hope bottling your feelings will not explode in your face later, its never good. " Jessica made a pause before continuing. " I hope she hires you, or at leas gives you a paid internship. Some companies do. "
Paige said goodbye to her friend and walked outside the building taking out her phone to call an huber when an upcoming call from Dylan appeared on screen.
"Hello." she answered.
"Where are you?"
"About to call an uber outside my dorm building. Why?"
"Didn't you received my message? I told I would take at my mom's place."
"I haven't checked my messages, sorry. "
Fifteen minutes later Paige was seated on the passenger seat of Dylan's car. She felt nervous, unsure if it was because she was going to meet Dylan's mother or because of her conversation with Jessica. Her hands starting feeling sweaty, and the worst thing was to shake Stacey Sullivan's hand and get her wet.
