Year 4

Goblet of Fire

Hermione and I sat on the wooden seats facing the Goblet of Fire and watch as people throw their names in. It's some time in the evening and we can't get enough of it.

"Come on, Cedric. Put it in!" One of the Hufflepuff boys shout. Cedric's two friends push him to the age line and Cedric walks through it and he stands in front of the Goblet. He carefully puts his name in and looks over at Hermione and I. He gives a small wink to me and I blush a light pink. People clap for him as he tackles his friend into a hug.

"Eternal glory." Ron says in awe. "Be brilliant, wouldn't it? Three years from now when we're old enough to be chosen." Harry and Ron walk over to where Hermione and I are sitting.

"Yeah, rather you than me." Harry jokes. He was definitely not interested in being in death challenges.

"Yes!" Fred and George cheer as they run through The Great Hall doors. People clap, cheer and high-five them. "Thank you, thank you. Well lads we've done it."

"Cooked it up just this morning." George says from behind Hermione and I.

"It's not going to work." Hermione and I say in a singsong voice. Both boys sit on either side of both of us.

"Oh, yeah?" Fred asks.

"And why is that Granger, Moonlight?" George asks.

"You see this?" I trace the ageing circle in the air with my finger. "This is an Age Line. Dumbledore and I drew it ourselves." Hermione nods as if it's the most obvious thing ever.

"So?" Fred asks. I scoff and turn to him.

"So..." Hermione begins.

"...a genius like Dumbledore couldn't possibly be fooled by a dodge as pathetically dimwitted as an Aging Potion." I finish.

"Ah, but that's why it's so brilliant." Fred starts.

"'Cause it's so pathetically dimwitted." George finishes. Both boys stand up on the seats and shake the vials in their hands. "Ready, Fred?"

"Ready, George." Fred confirms. They link their arm around each others.

"Bottoms up." They say and drink the vials containing the Ageing Potion. They jump down into the circle but I knew it wouldn't work since Dumbledore, Barty, and I created it. People cheer as they stick their names in and nothing happens. People cheer for them and they jump in excitement.

"Wait for it..." I trail off.

Suddenly, blue flames circle around them and throw them out of the circle. Students laugh as they age into old men. People laugh and the boys looks at each other.

"You said."

"You said."

They both start wrestling each other on the floor and everyone cheers.

"Fight! Fight! Fight!"

Hermione and I shake our heads in annoyance. Suddenly people turn around and stop chanting. Hermione and I look past the crowd and see Viktor Krum with Igor and another guy from Durmstrang. He has a stone cold look on his face as he puts his name in. He turns to where we are sitting and for a second his features go soft when he looks at Hermione but once he turns away, the cold look is back on his face.

Dumbledore gathered everyone back into The Great Hall and people took their seats. He asked Leia and I to stand up with the teachers when the names are announced. I stood next to Professor McGonagall and Leia stood next to Madame Maxime.
