These blood sucking drama queens changed up on me last minute and decided on a Spa day instead of lunch, which I still will be entirely sponsoring. That is where I'm currently headed now.

A text from Yanda came through as I parked the car. "Please accompany me to a business dinner. Be ready by 19:00." It left me more confused than I already was. Where was Nobuhle and why isn't he taking her? Wouldn't he want his colleagues to see him with his educated wife? I don't know what to make of his request. I'll ask my best friends for advice.

I got out of the car, locked it and made my way to the entrance where I met Amy with the biggest Gucci shades I've ever seen. They practically covered all her face. And in true Amy style she had a cocktail glass in hand. She came and engulfed me in a hug and pulled me to reception where I paid and we were escorted by one of the staff. "Zikhona said we'd find her in the mud baths." She said before taking a generous sip of her drink and giggled taking in the scenery. I had a feeling this wasn't her first or second glass. "Thank you for this friend! I don't know when last I had time to myself let alone go to a spa." Amy said sighing in contentment as we slid into the mud baths.

"Like I had a choice." I scoffed. "Please it's not like you had things to spend it on in the bundus." Zikhona jabbed. " You think Zanda was cheap ? And do you think that Range Rover Evoque was gifted to me by Land Rover?" I asked my voice laced with sarcasm. "I can still beat that smart mouth njalo!" She admonished in jest. "Please don't. I don't want to be delivering any baby on my day off. Even if it is my God baby." Amy grumbled taking a sip of her wine and then we sat there for an hour in silence.

"There's something I need your advice on but I'll tell you during our massages." I yelled as we stepped into our respective showers to rinse the mud off. "The Cotten used to make these gowns has to be imported from Egypt I swear." Amy muttered snuggling into the plush white gowns we were given. "Please come this way ladies." One of the masseuses said leading us to a room that had soothing music playing in the background.

Zikhona's bed was set up to accommodate her belly. It looked like a very comfortable nest where her tummy would lay. We all handed one of the masseuses our gowns and got onto the beds. Halfway through the massage when I was drifting off to sleep Zikhona disturbed the silence. "Are you going to tell us already." She blurts out impatiently. " I was wondering how long you'll last." Amy teased. "Oh hush Amy. Wena! Speak." Even though I couldn't see her face I could envision her impatient expression.

"Yanda wants me to be his date to a business dinner. I mean where is..." I didn't get to finish my question as they both interrupted in unison. "You're going!" They stated firmly. "In fact we're done here. May we have three full body waxes, these bushy brows also need to be tweezed. Please hook us up ladies." Zikhona requested already waddling off the bed followed by Amy who I expected to have my back. They've been dying to get an excuse to give me a make over.

I'm thoroughly worn after the day I've had. All I want is my bed but I unfortunately had to attend the damn dinner. After they had the spa ladies prick and prod at me they took me to a salon and the installed a cute bob wig on me. They also did a clean make up look the only thing I let them explore with was the lashes and red , bright bold lipstick. They tried to get me to install a long weave but I told them a short one or nothing. Whilst the nail tech worked on my nails Zikhona was making calls to designers to organize a dress and shoes for me at last minute. The third one we called had just what we were looking for.

They dropped it off at the house an hour ago. It's a beautiful elegant sequin black dress with a plunging neckline and long sleeves. It clung onto my every curve. When I looked in the mirror I saw a beautiful woman I didn't recognize. I raised my hand to touch my face but Amy smacked my hand away. "Amy!" My whine was cut short by the sound of a car driving in. "That must be your dearest husband." Zikhona jested hoping to get a rise out of me but I just side eyed her.

"Which perfume?" Amy asked already raiding through them and spraying them in the air and sniffing. She's always raiding through and taking my scents. She says she likes mine better. When I offer that she comes with me when I go buy she refuses. I'm done with these two. Don't they have husbands to get to? As I was about to ask that Yanda walks in. His gaze lifts from his phone and he took in my appearance from the bottom up. The room was just enveloped in silence. The one time I wished my friends would say something to break the silence they said nothing. All I could hear was the sound of my heart beating out of my chest. What was he thinking? Am I over dressed?

He didn't let my thoughts torture me much longer. "You look like a dream Ntombizonke." He rasped our still taking in my features. "Thank you." I whispered in response hoping he'd hear me with how softly I'd spoken. "A good evening ladies. Let me go freshen up then we can leave." He kept on clearing his throat in between. As soon as he disappeared Amy and Zikhona broke out in guffaws of laughter. "I give them three months." Zikhona choked out. "No add another three for the poor guy to get through your friend's stubborn, thick as a rock skull." They then chortled like they'd made the funniest joke. I didn't mind my idiotic friends. I carried on admiring myself.
I'd thoroughly enjoy this night and this gorgeous dress. Nothing could ruin my night. Not even my seemingly bipolar husband.
