Chapter 3: Awakening and questions

It has been an hour since the encounter with Knock Out and the Autobots and the kids were getting worried since their guest hadn't woken up. Jack, Miko and Raf were playing a video game while Arcee, Bulkhead and Optimus were out to find some energon while Bumblebee was watching over their guest.

Bumblebee made a surprise sound as their guest seemed to be waking up slowly. He smiled as her eyes opened to reveal a human eye while the other looked like a Cybertronian. He quickly went to Ratchet and motioned to him that their guest was waking up.

She let out a groan as she covered her eyes quickly as the light blinded her a bit.

"Are you okay, young one?" An unknown voice asks.

The voice was unfamiliar as she blinked her eyes a little but let out a surprised shriek when the face of a robot with blue optics came to view. First a red car with red optics was a robot that attacked her and put her to unconsciousness then a red and white robot with blue optics was in her personal space, crying out loud!

"W-Where am I?!" She asked in fear as she looked at the red and white robot.

She let out another terrified scream as a black and yellow robot came to view. Just what the heck is going on?!

"Whoa, whoa! Hey, calm down." The voice of the raven haired teen was a relief but that still doesn't calm her nerves as why there are robots!

She continues to stare at the bots for a moment longer before relaxing slightly at seeing no danger in their optics which she finds confusing since her other eye is like that. Maybe they have an answer why.

The longer she stared at the two bots, the stranger her body started to feel. As if she was on fire, she let out a pained yelp and started to sway on her feet just as Optimus with Arcee and Bulkhead came back and saw what was going on. She made brief eye-optic contact with the blue and red robot and her body went into shock as she stumbled down the ledge but Bumblebee was quick to his feet and caught her before she could hit the floor.

She let out a pained and pitiful groan as she blinked her eye-optic open. Damn that's got to hurt. She felt the surface she was on move before she was set down on something else. She couldn't explain it but she felt warmth and safety in the presence and it made her relax slightly.

They watched her relax as Optimus made sure to hold her gently.

"So... Mind telling us who you are? Are you a Decepticon spy? Working for the MECH?" Miko asked as she opened her eyes slightly as she started to regain her strength and stood up.

"Decepticon? MECH? What the heck are you talking about?" She put her hands on her hips as Optimus set his hand down as she got off as Miko got into her face which was a little too close for her comfort.

"Miko." Bulkhead started to warn his friend. As much as he was happy to see their guest finally awake, he was a little concerned Miko is acting really rude for a bit since she got detention.

"Miko, stop. She doesn't even know what those are." Jack told his friend as she pulled her back as he can clearly see that their guest was a little older than them around 18 of age.

"I'm Jack Darby by the way. The girl is Miko and the kid with the glasses is Rafael or Raf. The giant robots with us are Autobots. The femme is Arcee, the medic is Ratchet, the black and yellow Camaro scout not is Bumblebee, the big guy is Bulkhead and their leader, Optimus Prime. We saved you from getting hurt by Knock Out." Jack explained and told her what happened as she looked at each one of the beings in the room when their names were called and the leader was taller than the rest but she couldn't help but awe at how tall he was.

She shook her head and since Jack was kind enough to introduce everyone to her, she might as well do the same.

"Emily. Emily Sparks. I came from the city but moved here to start a new life." She introduced herself as she was comfortable and relaxed around the bots.

"Why?" Miko gave her a confused but suspicious look and it just made her consciously scratch her arm sleeves as if trying to hide something.

"Classified. It's... too personal."

Ratchet scanned her arms silently and took a mental note of what he saw and made sure to tell this to the others in private as he was able to scan her vitals and health.

"Come on! We're not gonna bite." Miko continues to insist and Optimus takes notice quickly as Emily takes a step back towards him as if a little scared of Miko.

"Miko, stand down. It seems our friend isn't comfortable sharing something too personal."

Thank the stars that the Autobot leader saved her skin. She really doesn't wanna share anything too personal. She looked at her watch and took note it was getting a bit late in the afternoon but she slumped down when she noticed that her motorcycle wasn't in the base with them.

She felt herself being lifted up and was set down on a servo. She looked up and saw that it was Optimus.

"Come, Emily. I would need a word with you and to you explain what's going on." Optimus told her as he set her down on his shoulder.

She made sure not to fall down as she was taken somewhere which looked like an office.

"Emily, I'm going to have to ask you a few questions and I need you to answer them truthfully." She looked up to him as she stared into his blue optics much like her single optic and saw sincerity in his blue ones.

"I... I'll try." She nodded as he then started to ask her simple questions like where did she used to live, how old was she which got him a small knock and told him not to ask for her age to which he apologized but she answered that she was 18.

He asked her if she knows what her shoulder has but she just shrugged it and told him that she was born with it and the same goes for her other eye. She told him that she was only adopted and really can't remember her past or where she came from.

Optimus started to notice that she was getting tired and it was already night time outside the base. He let her curl up in his hand as he came back out and asked Miko, Raf and Jack to take her home. Ratchet was given the address to her home and used the ground bridge. Optimus watched them help their new friend home but couldn't help but feel a little empty when she was gone. Maybe some rest and recharge might help him figure things out for the next day.
