'Elijah' Rebekah exclaimed happily as the girls made it to the door of the attic but only one could get through. Astrid turned back to Rebekah who got caught at the doors threshold. 'Hold on a minute! You're allowed in?' Rebekah began to panic as she felt the chances of rescuing her brother successfully slip through her fingers. 'Yeah Bekah I am' she lifted up the lid to Elijah's coffin. 'Me and D know each other'
Bekah frowned at this, confused which beckoned Astrid to explain further, 'It wasn't just Marcel that saved Davina you know'
Bekah nodded and watched as Astrid went to pull the dagger out of Elijah, but the two girls stood frozen before they could do anything.
The Abbatoir.
1887.The two girls awoke - or so they thought - back at the compound. Except when they looked down they were dressed in the New Orleans finest. Astrid wore the same purple dress that she had been daydreaming about earlier that day, rolling her eyes as she looked up and saw the largest up do her neck could possibly carry. She looked down off the balcony to see Rebekah standing next to a horse and carriage, dressed in a white number and her hair in as equally a large up do.
'What the bloody hell?' Rebekah muttered.
Rebekah looked up at Astrid and flipped the bird at her friend's hysterics. Astrid was too distracted being bent over in fits of laughter to notice Elijah's presence.
'Rebekah, language, please!'
Astrid looked back up at this. Elijah had joined Rebekah's side in his own finery. 'Elijah!' Bekah celebrated as she hugged her brother. 'What is all this?'
'You don't remember? We went to the opera house together. It was your first full day back into New Orleans' society after Klaus removed the dagger from you. Also, I need you to know it's not another of Davina's tricks.'
'Then what am I doing up here?' Astrid raised her voice from the balcony as the pair looked up. 'You, my dear sister in law, stood on that very balcony and waved us goodbye' Astrid nodded in acknowledgement before she paced downstairs. 'Now Astrid-'
'You called us here for a reason Elijah. Let's not discuss indiscretions meant for another time' She smiled at Elijah and he nodded as his shoulders relaxed. 'Wait how are you even awake? I didn't remove the dagger?' Astrid questioned.
'Davina did, unaware that doing so even once would negate the dagger's power. In a few hours, I shall be as good as new!' He informed the pair with a small smile. 'So, pop us the attic and we can find a way to get you out!' Rebekah protested as Elijah shook his head.
'I'm afraid I'm not quite ready to leave yet, Rebekah. This girl, Davina, she's... curious. Willful, too. Soon, I shall be able to speak to her, perhaps to even propose a truce of some kind. So, if we can end this war between the vampires and the witches, we'll be able to eliminate the threat to Hayley and her baby. Perhaps then Niklaus and our entire family can finally know peace.' He poured the girls drinks and began to walk with them, Rebekah on one side and Astrid on the other.
'In the meantime, I need you two to look after Hayley, she's our family now' He looked with hesitation at Astrid, realising his choice of words.
'Don't worry, 'Lijah I know everything. We have spoken and actually became fast friends' she exclaimed, almost proud of herself that she managed to keep her temper underwrapped.
'Ah good. So I need her and her unborn child to fall underneath our protection' Elijah was always the brother to keep the three intact from their darkest impulses - to control them when they lost control. He found peace in the fact that nothing had gone entirely wrong
