Always and Forever

Chapter 54:

Draco got behind me and I sat up a bit. She gave me medicine for the pain and it started going away a little, but it still hurt. She lifted up the gown, "Only dilated 4 centimeters, you have a long way to go." I took a deep breath and laid my head back on Draco. He smoothed my hair out and kissed me on the head. "You're doing great so far. We'll be here through it all. You got this darling."

"Oh jeez. They weren't kidding when they say this hurts." I said after another contraction passed. "Dilated 6 centimeters, you're doing great." I relaxed a bit and took a deep breath. Another contraction hit and I groaned loudly, "How close are they now?" She checked the monitor. "3 minutes apart now." She checked under the gown again, "8 centimeters. Once you're 10 centimeters dilated then you'll be able to start pushing."

After 2 more contractions and about 8 minutes she looked under my gown, "Dilated 10 centimeters. Let me give you a little more medicine and then you can start pushing. Just breathe." I groaned. "Easy for you to say. You're not going to be pushing 2 kids out of you." She looked away from me and gave me some more medicine. "I'm sorry." She smiled and sat down in front of me.

"It's perfectly fine dear. On the count of 3 I'm gonna need you to push okay? 1...2...3." Holding Draco and Harry's hands I pushed and then relaxed. "Okay, take a deep breath. Push for me again in 3...2...1." I pushed on one and groaned loudly, almost like a scream. I put my head back and Draco rubbed my arm. "You're doing amazing sweetheart."

"Okay, I'm gonna need one big push okay? 1...2...3." I took a deep breath and pushed with all I could. I heard crying. I smiled and put my head back. "Baby number one, a girl." She walked over to the sink. She washed the baby off a bit and then wrapped her up in a towel, placing her in the shallow baby bed. "Okay, now time for one more. Push for me." I pushed and let out a small scream.

"Okay, maybe two more pushes. Don't give up now. Whenever you're ready." I relaxed for a few seconds and then started pushing again. I groaned and threw my head back. "One more, then you'll be done." I took a deep breath and pushed as hard as I could. I heard crying and relaxed. "Baby number 2, a boy." She went to the sink and washed him off, wrapped him in a towel. She placed him in a shallow bed and pushed it over to us. She handed one to me and one to Draco.

"Skye, you did amazing. Look at them." The boy looked like him, and the girl looked like me. They both resembled one of us. I was so happy to see them, I let out the tears that were waiting to fall. I looked at Draco and he was crying too, "I did it, they're here." I smiled and he kissed my head. Madam Pomfrey took the babies so she could weigh them and make sure they were healthy.

Draco got out from behind me and I looked at him, "Thank you, to both of you. I wouldn't have been able to do it without you." Harry kissed my forehead, "Of course, I'm glad I could help. Now I'll leave you two, I need to get back to school. Congratulations you guys." He smiled and walked out. Madam Pomfrey walked back into the room, "They're both healthy and a good weight. The boy is 7.8 pounds and the girl is 7.5 pounds."

"Now you need to get some rest Skye. They'll still be here when you wake up."
