Always and Forever

Chapter 71:

A/N-This is all taking place the way it went down when Harry and Voldemort fought. I'm trying to explain it the best I can but I may not get it on point. Bear with me!

SKYE'S POV:

When I opened my eyes I was looking at Hagrid. I squirmed and jumped out of his arms, falling. I got on my knees and looked up. Draco was staring at me, along with everyone else. I got up and lifted my wand, "I'm not dead yet you asshole, but you will be." He turned towards the group of Death Eaters and I shot a spell at him, knocking him off of his feet. He turned to me and got up. "Silly little girl. Avada Kedavra!" I jumped out of the way just in time and so did everyone else, making him hit the wall behind me, blowing it up.

I ran to the walkway and ducked as he threw another spell at me, blowing up more of the architecture outside. I turned around and shot a spell at him and he blocked it. I cursed under my breath and ran out of the walkway and back out into the open area. I stood by Draco's side and he gave me a quick hug. We ran into the school, looking for Lupin and the rest of them. I found them running around the corridor. "Lupin! Fred!" They heard me and turned around. "Come on, we got to go!" I pulled them out into the the courtyard.

"I need you to keep Hermione and them safe. I need to deal with this on my own." Hermione, Harry and Ron ran over to them and Draco grabbed my wrist. "You are not risking your life just to beat him Skye." I tried wrenching my wrist out of his grip but he tightened it. "I'm sorry. I love you Draco. Please don't hate me. Petrificus Totalus." He froze and then Lupin caught his body before he hit the ground. "Keep everyone safe. I love y'all." I had seen Voldemort run to the dark forest so I ran there.

I ran deep into the forest before I saw green light up the sky, the Dark Mark symbol. I took a deep breath and ran farther into the darkness, often tripping over stray branches and tree roots. I found Voldemort, standing in a bare patch that looked like it had been cleared of all trees. He walked closer to me and I circled around from him. "You honestly think you can win against me?" He stared me down and I felt a shiver travel down my spine.

"If it means keeping my family safe then yes I do." He smirked as we walked in a circle. Him trying to get closer to me and I just kept moving away. "Family? Are you talking about Draco and those babies? What are their names again? Atlas and Claire? I wonder what you'd do if I told you that they weren't safe. That nobody you know is." I lifted my wand higher and stopped walking, staring him straight in the eyes. "Don't touch my kids or it'll be the last thing you do."

He laughed, "Oh calm down. They are fine, maybe. But you wouldn't know because here you are risking your life. Even when you know you'll lose." I shot one spell after another, and he of course blocked them all. "Fight back! Don't just stand there!" He smirked and then started shooting spells at me. I fought back, blocking some spells but some hitting me, only paining me for a few seconds. I started running back to Hogwarts, and he followed, sending spells at me.

Once I got back to the courtyard I stood in the middle with Voldemort staring back at me. I looked behind me and Draco was running towards me. I held my hand out, "No Draco. I need you to stay back." He looked at me like I was crazy. "Are you mad? You're risking your life and you won't even let me help you. I refuse to let you do this alone." He started walking towards me again and as he got closer I held out my wand. "Draco please. I have to do this alone. Not you, not Lupin, not Hermione. Me."

He walked even closer, maybe 3 feet away now, and he kept inching closer. A tear slipped down my cheek and I let out a stifled sob. "Draco stay back! Don't make me hurt you." He backed up and I turned towards Voldemort. "Love makes you weak sweetheart. Now lets get this over with shall we?"
