Ch. 33 - Shinsou

Something didn't sit right with me after that conversation with Zuku. He was normally very open, and he wasn't the type to ditch me and at least not tell me. To say I was worried was an understatement, so I texted Dad and Papa.

Yeah, we did a quirk
assessment test. He
ended up getting last.

So he's upset about

Well, I did threaten
the class that last
place would be expelled

He might just be

sure he'll be fine.
Just cheer him up
when you get home.

I turn off ny phone and speed walk home. We still haven't given him and extra key, and on top of that I had a job to do. I make it to our apartment complex and head up the stairs to see Izu passed out on the floor by the stairs. I rush over to him and see his face was red, his cheeks stained with tears, and his eyes puffy from crying. He seemed to be having trouble breathing as he cried in his sleep.

"Izu? Izu wake up. Zuku please wake up!" I beg as I try to shake him awake, but to no avail. I hurry and pull out the keys from my bag, dropping them since my hands were shaking. I pick they keys off the ground and unlock the door, slamming it open. I throw my stuff by the door and hurry to pick Izu and Tulip off the ground. I run to the couch and set them on it, then called Dad. I pull out my phone and give him a ring.

Ring...

Ring...

Ri-

"Hello?"

"Dad!" I cry. "Dad, something's wrong with Izu!"

"Hey, hey buddy calm down. Didn't we already talk about this?"

"No, I got home and he was passed out on the ground. Dad, he isn't breathing right! Somethings wrong!"

"Alright, I'm on my way. Just, try to wake him up, okay Hitoshi, and calm down. He's going to be okay."

"Okay. Okay. Okay," I breath. Dad hang up the phone and I go over to Izu and shake him again. "Izu? Izu please wake up. D-dad's coming, he'll know what to do. What's wrong, why didn't you tell me what was wrong? Please Izu wake up." Nothing. He just continued to cry in his sleep. After 25 minutes of trying to wake him, he stopped breathing
