(Okay I know there is an intro thing for them but since you've watched the movies you know the intro already! If you haven't then why are you reading this book? Lol so I'm just gonna do the girls' part and the song above is the girl's gang song!)
Let's not forget the five girls that were known by no one until they split up and joined the SWORD gangs. It was quick for them to go up the food chain of each gang and for them to become close to each leader yet before they even did that they were once friends.
Those five girls were once a gang even. They were called the black roses and even have a matching tattoo of their logo but no one asks about it. No one.

The reason for their disbanding was because they knew things were changing and for them to grow they had to leave and change with the change of the city. They didn't have a problem with that because really as much as they cared for each other they were eager to fight more. Learn more. Grow more. It was their style.
-like a rose be beautiful, cunning, and most importantly grow-
The leader of their once gang was none other than Gen. She was smart, focus, and a great leader and each other followed her without a fought even if there was only just the five of them in the gang. They were strong and they only got stronger when they joined different gangs and they were happy.
Now you know the main part of them how about a little information about them each?
Gen Abe. As a leader, she was respected the most. She was strong, protective, and smart. She was everything that made her a good leader. Her tattoo was on her chest, left side clear as day whenever she wore tank tops or v cut shirts. Her usually stone-hard blank face was apart of herself. Long brunette hair and darkening brown eyes. Yet as beautiful as she was the most tomboyish out of all the girls. She wore baggy everything and she liked it that way. It wasn't like anyone would stop her.
Hana Mori. She was the most beautiful and sweetest out of all of them but don't let that deceive you. She was sassy, cunning, and even the most selfish one. She was a black rose. Her long straight brown hair was once wavy but changed when she joined the white Rascals. Her signature hoop earrings even touching her shoulders at times. Her tattoo was on her right hip. She was a complete bitch and sweet angel all at the same time. She was just Hana.
Sato Okada. She was serious about everything to the point where she was sometimes called uptight. It wasn't as though the girls stopped her anyway just she took everything and did everything seriously. Even though it was her downside it certainly was her upside. She made her stronger and motivated. Her tattoo was on her right shoulder.
Emiko Hayashi. She was the quietest and so shy that she never talked at all. Her persona may fool you but she is strong and especially smart about plans. She was the one that Gen went to for everything. Even though she was shy no one in the gang pressured her and when someone did everyone else was there to yell at that person. Her tattoo was on her wrist.
Last but not least Toyo Kato. She was crazy. She loved the thrilling of blood and fights. She loved everything that came with being in a gang because it put her on edge. Even though she was bat sh*t crazy she was loving and protective about everyone. She was a monster but a cuddly fluffy bear inside. Her tattoo was on the outer part of her thigh.
Even apart they were the same as their gangs. They were loyal even if it meant fighting each other. It was how they went yet no matter what they would never forget each other. They would never forget the black rose. Or their style. It was what they went by always and forever.
