Prisoner of Our Own Thoughts

We are prisoners of our own thoughts,
held in a cell of our emotions,
drowning in our own sea of lies,
burning up in a fire of our theories.

As prisoners of our own thoughts,
only we know where the exit lies,
only we can help ourselves escape,
only you can dig yourself out.

As a prisoner of my own thoughts,
I must save myself,
create my escape route,
and be on my way.

But as a prisoner of my own thoughts,
I am stuck here,
until I find myself and team up,
until I can find my exit.
