Chapter 32

It’s been one and a half week ago since George disappeared. Paul is crying a lot, and at the moment I don’t even know about who I should worry more. George or John. John is stuck in the hospital now. He is dangerously ill.. I visit him every day, and while I visit I see him going worse. Today Paul is coming with me. It’s a good step for him. Since George ran away he didn’t speak much or go anywhere only when Brian told us to go somewhere he did. Now I just asked him to come with me and he did very luckily he did.

We walk into John’s hospital room, he’s lying there ill and terrible weak. His eyes are shut. “John?” I ask.

John opens his eyes and looks at me and Paul, a little smile appears on his face and he tries to sit up. “Lads..” he says weak.

“How are you?” I ask.

“Same as yesterday.” He replies.

Paul sits down in a chair near the bed and eyes a bit at John. “Do they know how to solve it?” Paul asks.

“Not yet because I give wrong information.. I keep saying it’s a snake bite, instead of a George bite.” John chuckles a little bit, making fun like his usual mind.

No matter where he is or what is going on. John always keeps his funny self. “Maybe we should tell them it’s been George and not a snake. I mean… it’s all on the papers anyway..” I sigh.

“I don’t want a story going round that Geo eats his friends. He doesn’t want it we know.” John says, his voice is serious.

“Rather you to die?” Paul asks quiet.

“No, I don’t. But why would they have an remedy for Vampires while people call them; un-existing.” John replies.

Paul and I are nodding. We understand John’s point. Still we worry. John isn’t alright. That’s clear.

“ouch..” John groans and closes his eyes for seconds.

“John?” Paul asks.

John doesn’t reply.

I start to panic, I feel like I’m a sort of stone being stuck, I can’t move.

Paul shakes John, he’s stressing. “John?!”

John opens his eyes again and gives Paul a smile.

Paul stops shaking him and back away a little. “You were joking!” Paul says annoyed and mad.

“No..” John says. “I got a shock through my neck.” John carries on.

Paul bends his hands to fists, I put my hand on Paul’s shoulder to calm him down before he hurts John but Paul keeps angry.

“Don’t you dare.” I  say calmly to him.

Paul sighs and makes himself to calm down without he really wants to.

“John, was this a little bit of a trick?” I ask him.

“Yes, a little. It really hurt but the eye close that long was a trick.” John says, his voice is a little guilty. “I needed a bit of a joke…” He continues.

I sigh. “It’s better you don’t do that tricks by Paul right now. Okay? You know he doesn’t feel fine.”  I say.

“You mean, that thing of George?” John asks.

“DON’T SAY HIS NAME!!!” Paul yells out.

I massage Paul’s shoulders. “sssh… Ssssh… Calm down.” I say calmly.

“I DON’T WANT TO!!!” Paul keeps on yelling.

“Paul, please. Try at least.” I say, still very calm.

Paul sighs and sits down on a chair. He puts his elbows on his knees and his head in his hands.

I stroke his back. “It’s alright, it’s alright.”

“It’s not! George is lost! Probably dead! Or.. or he killed someone!” Paul calls.

“sssh.. we’re in a hospital, remember. Don’t speak this so loud..” I whisper. “But you might be right…” I continued even more whispering.

I look over at John and see he isn’t moving. “John?” I ask. He doesn’t reply. I grab his pulse and feel for his heartbeat. “John?” I ask worried, I can’t find it. “JOHN!!” I shout, he still doesn’t reply.

I look over at Paul. “GET. A. DOCTOR. NOW!”

Paul gets up and runs to find a doctor.

“John! Don’t die. Don’t be dead! Come back!” My eyes start filling with tears and I shake him like he should wake up out a dream. “Stay with me! Don’t leave us!” I cry. I feel the chance going smaller of him surviving.

A doctor runs over with Paul following him. The doctor tries to bring John back.

Paul is breaking, to me seems everything slowing down. Moves are slow. Sounds are slow. Stuff are a little bit of a blur.
