Anna spent her childhood learning how to hunt vampires, so the last thing she expected was to be turned into a vampire herself. Now, she's stuck road-tripping across Canada to escape her vampire-hunting family, and hiding her true identity from the ones that turned her.

Anna's family has been hunting vampires for generations. The Nightingales have been the biggest threat to vampires. Anna's grandmother has told her everything she knew about Vampires. Anna spent her childhood prepared to fight bloodsuckers. Anna gave up the life of hunting to go to university with aspirations of becoming a novelist.

One night at a club, Anna and her friend meet four mysterious men. Anna suspects that Rhys, Drew, Calvin, and Huxley might be vampires. That night they are attacked, and Rhys vampires turns Anna. The vampires train her on how to protect herself against the Nightingales. Anna hides her true identity from the vampires.

Tension builds between Rhys and Drew as the two men both develop feelings toward Anna. She tries to keep her sanity as they all road trip across Canada and crash at a variety of mythical creatures' homes.
