Wolf POV

Darkness. All I saw was darkness. Than I saw a planet, a nice planet to be sure. It's land is full of forests and cities however we knew why we where here. This planet has joined the Separatists in the war. We are here to change that. I never took part in the land assault, however I shared the memories of my crew. Sometimes I wished this wasn't the case.

I always remembered the fighting was hard, orbital bombardments and aerial support only did so much, and the General's tactics where costly on both the number of bodies and morale. But after two weeks of hard fighting, we took the capital. I remember the look of the civilians when we first entered the city. They where tired. Tired of the war, the destruction, the death. It wasn't long before many of the more common people started trying to work with the GAR. It was a weird change of pace however General Krell accepted the help. It all soon began to fall apart. Guerrilla attacks, assassinations, and bombings started to happen. Then it grew exponentially. We grew paranoid with the populace, and soon we where ordered to put down the remaining resistance. We did so happily, bombing and bombarding their small bases until nothing but the planet surface was left. But the attacks continued, all the while the civilians where caught in the crossfire. We didn't see it at first, but that all changed after a bombardment on a rebel base that was near a village. We walked in and soon found the body of a little girl. At first we thought she was alive, after all her body was in front of us and moving. But when we got closer, we where shocked. What we saw wasn't her body. It was the multiple Womp rats feeding on her shredded remains. We all quickly shooed them away and we saw what was left. It shook us to the core.

For all our lives we where told that we are the protectors of democracy and freedom. That we are the torch that will light a way for a better world. But when we stared into the scattered remains and dark holes of the girl's body, all we could think is that the torch was turned on the people we where supposed to protect. And we did nothing to stop it. The regret drove us insane, some of the troopers began to try and help the civilians while others steered bombardments away from their houses. General Krell was furious however we didn't care, we thought that it was the right thing to do. But then word came that the rebel leaders are in the capital, and sh*t really hit the fan. General Krell told us that he received authorization for something that he said would end this. We where ecstatic, ready for the orders that will end this nightmare. Then we got the orders, we need to round up the civilians, place them as hostages, and if the rebel leaders doesn't show up shoot them one by one.

It was Order 37.

We where shocked. Some of us tried protest, after all we don't want to kill anymore innocents. We where threatened with termination. Some of the veterans continued to refuse to take part. General Krell had them publicly executed by firing squad. He soon began to punish anyone who tried to help the civilians. A private abandoned his post to try and help a little boy find his parents during lockdown. He and the boy where shot. A Captain ordered his men to put down a man who was slowly bleeding out during an execution, he to was shot. The body count began to pile, both clone and civilian. I remember the dread we had when we looked at our brothers cold, dead eyes. We cried in silence that the rebel leaders would come up and stop the slaughter. They didn't come. And the executions continued. I could only watch as each body hit the ground, and I cried. My helmet concealing my tears as I silently pleaded that the General would stop however we sucked it up and carried out our orders. Finally the bombings and the attacks stopped, there was simply no one to terrorize. No one to ask for peace. General Krell proclaimed this a great victory, however we could only look at the graves of our brothers and nod. This is what we live for, we where told. This is what we are made for, they say. And I believed them.

My eyes quickly shot open as the same nightmare played in my head as I soon shot out of my bed, my screams still reverberating off the walls. It was only the second day since I was captured by the Crimson Axis, and I have already saw the same thing three times. I looked around my cell, it was a small room with only a few furnishings that takes care of essentials. I soon heard a knock at my cell door and I saw four figures. I quickly recognized Z23, Prinz Eugen, and Takao however the other ship girl was new.
