"Hey? How my schedule looking?"

Scrolling through my social media, I waited for my manager to say. Its been a month since I've been back in Atlanta and between doing shows and having my nieces, shit been busy.

"You got a show in Florida in two weeks and one back in New York next weekend."

When I heard New York, I looked at him. Since giving Misty my number, she hadn't made any kind of communication with me.

"Where in New York?"

"Same place you did last time. The response they got from that last performance was a hit."

"Aight man." I nodded and smiled.

I was hoping to run into Misty at that show. I wanted to know why she didn't at least text me.

"You seem more excited for that performance." My manager laughed.

"I like being in New York. The fuck with me the long way."

"That's true." He nodded. "Well you can go ahead and do your thing. We're basically done here."

"Alright man. Thanks." We dapped.

Heading out, my phone began to vibrate, catching me off guard.

"Hey momma wazzamin?"

"Checking up on you to see how things are going."

"Busy like always but work gotta be done."

"That's true. You've been taking care of yourself though?"

"Trying too but let me ask you something."

"Anything. Is everything ok?"

"I met someone a month ago when I was in New York."

"You met someone huh?"

I could hear it in her voice that she was smiling.

"Yes momma, I met someone."

"Does this someone have a name?"

"Well if ya let me finish, I can get to that."

"I'm sorry, go ahead." She laughed.

"Her name is Misty and we met in the Starbucks she works at and before ya say anything, she ain't tryna trap me or look for a come up."

"I didn't say anything."

"Good. Well we only met and spoke like twice and before I left, I gave her my number but I ain't heard from her since."

"She's probably busy son. I'm sure she has her life to live."

"I know that Shelia Marie." I laughed. "I just thought she would have texted me so I would have her number."

"Oh. Well I say don't stress. I'm sure y'all paths will cross again."

"You're right." I agreed.

"I know I am and next time ya call me Sheila Marie I'll smack you."

"I luv you too momma." I laughed.

"Mhmm. Love you too."

Ending the call, I figured my mother was right. She probably been busy but I was curious still.

"Still nothing goon?"

"Yup." I nodded.
