Misty

"What time does Aug's flight get in?"

Finishing fix my grandma's bed, I stood up straight and checked the time.

"Probably in the next hour or so."

Going back to straightening up, there wasn't really much to do than some laundry.

"Misty are you OK?" Sarah laughed.

"Yea, why?"

"You seem rather nervous. Does this have anything to do with Aug's mother coming?" Maggie smirked.

"What? No. I'm just cleaning."

"Girl this apartment is spotless, what your trying to clean, the clean itself."

Taking the basket from me, they set it down and pulled me on to the couch. Truthfully, I was in fact nervous to be meeting her in person.

"Calm down. She is going to like you."

"Yeah. Plus didn't you say y'all facetimed already?" Maggie questioned.

"Yea but that's different."

"Girl you have nothing to worry about." Maggie continued.

"How have things been between you and him?" Sarah asked.

"Everything has been good honestly. I thought it would have been different though."

"Different how?"

"I figured people would be in our business but he is just as private as I am where my life is concerned."

"Well that's good."

"Mhmm."

"You got anymore of these cookies?" Maggie asked from the kitchen.

"How the hell did you get there and those weren't mines." I shook my head.

"Whose were they?"

"Aug's."

"Oh dang."

"Please don't tell me you ate all."

"OK I won't." She smiled.

Sighing, I got up and checked on my grandmother. Telling her I was heading to the store to comeback, she simply nodded and went back to watching tv.

Since she's been home, her recovery been OK. We've been following the doctor's orders as best as we can so I was hoping she would be good soon.

Aug was right where her medication was concerned. Not only did I have to get, but the were crazy expensive because we didn't have any insurance coverage.

"I'll be back y'all. Maggie try and stay out of my kitchen. That food has to last, including the snacks."

"Fine I'll try." She mumbled.

Making my way down the stairs, I pasused and smiled when I saw Jay. This was the first time for the week I was seeing him.

"Hey you."

"Hey ma wassup?" He smiled.

"I'm good. Haven't seen you in a while."

"Been putting in that over time. Baby girls birthday is coming up."

"I know that's right."

"Yea. So how have you been? You and ya new man, August Alsina." He smirked.

"I knew you knew it was him." I shook my head.

"That nigga can't hide from anybody but I just was playing to see what he would have said." He laughed.
