Misty

"Ok." I took a deep breath and exhaled. "Let's see what can be salvaged.

Turning the key to our apartment, I pushed the door and pause.

"What the hell?" I spoke to myself.

Looking at the door number, I looled back inside.

"How?" I questioned.

Walking in, everything was basically put back together and replaced. Checking everything, I fought back the urge to cry.

"You like it?"

Hearing his voice, I turned to see Jamal standing in the doorway smiling.

"You did this?"

"Not by myself." He confessed as hell walked in. "Everyone in the building donated and helped me get things back in place."

"But why?" I stood staring at him

"What do you mean why? You and your grandmother deserve this. Y'all don't mess with anyone or get into anyone's business so whoever did this meant to do it and we showed them how we got y'all." He wiped my tears away. "Stop crying."

"Did you find out who did it?"

"Nah but I will, believe me I will."

"I can't believe this and I came here to see what can be fixed and needed replacing."

"Well now you can just relax." He smiled.

Sitting on the couch, I was just so relieved honestly. This was a huge weight completelt off my shoulders.

"Thank you so much Jamal." I laid my head on his shoulder.

"You're welcome babe."

Kissing me on my forehead, I looked up at him and smiled. Just about to get comfortable, in camera Destiny running.

"Wassup princess?" He lifted her, sitting her on his lap.

"Why Aunty Misty crying?" She asked stretching for me.

"I'm just really happy love. You good?"

"Mhmm." She nodded.

"You want to make a cake today?"

"With sprinkles like the last one?" She smiled.

"Any chocolate frosting."

"Daddy can I?" She looked at Jamal.

Destiny had to be the most precious child I've ever met. For a five year old, though she was a busy body, she was well behaved and mannered.

"Yea princess."

"We gotta go to the store though so go get your flip flops."

Sliding off my lap, she ran back to their apartment.

"Jay?"

"Yo?" He gave me his attention.

"As much as I appreciate this, you know we are only friends right?"

Sighing, he just looked at me. I knew he still had feelings for me but the way he hurt me, I couldn't go back even though I had moved past it.

"I kn , but that still doesn't change how I feel and I know what happened between us cut deep but I feel like what we had is still there, unless?"

"Unless what?"

"Unless there is someone else in the picture and I don't know."

"When he said that, I thought back on August. Though we hadn't spoken much since I accepted his apology, part of me was curious about him.
