Pulling up in front her building at ten like I had said, I turned off the car and called her.

"Hey, you're here?"

"Yea ma, I'm downstairs."

"OK I'm coming."

Ending the call, I sat back and waited. Looking at my surroundings, it was a typical hood setup. Children playing, niggas shooting dice and dealing. Getting out, I adjusted my bucket hat and waited. Hearing her voice, I looked up and saw her walking with an older lady.

"Hey you." She smiled as she approached me.

"Hey."

Sharing a hug, I couldn't hell but get a smell of her scent.

"You smell good." I smiled.

"Thanks." She laughed a little. "So do you."

"Thanks." I laughed as I opened the door for her.

"Anyone ever told you, you give the best hugs."

"Nah. Thats a first."

"Well you do. Now, what you have planned for us?"

"You seem extra happy this morning."

"I don't have to go to work, that's why." She laughed as I started the car.

"If you hate it that much, why you still there?"

"Because I need the money, as small as it may be." She sighed.

"So why not look for something else?"

"Right now, its the only thing that gives me time to not only do the center but be there for my grandmother."

"Oh OK. I understand."

"Yea, but I believe better will come eventually."

"Well that's good that you're thinking positive."

"Mhmm. So?" She looked at me.

"So?"

"You didn't answer my question."

"Oh. I got something planned. Its been a while since I've had some fun so just be ready."

"Hmm. I'm liking the sound of this." She smiled.

"You just sit back and relax."

"Got it."

"How long will we be driving for?"

"About an hour."

"Hmmm."

"Don't worry, you'll enjoy it."

"I'm not worried." She smirked. "If I was going to be, I wouldn't have said yes to this."

"That's good to know."

Continuing on the way, I turned on the radio. Every now and then I would glancd over at her as she sang along to most of the songs that played.

"So do you move around without your security often?" She asked.

"Yea. Most times when I'm off, I do. I'm just a regular nigga you know."

"I know but you're still a musician and you do have fans who will come at you."

"That's all true but hey." I shrugged. "They know when I need my space."

"That's good then." She nodded.

Smiling, I watched as she went back to singing and looking out the window.

"So tell me something?"
