Chapter 14

"Ethan?"

I blinked twice but I  could still see the same person in front of me. Ethan Coroner, my father's most trusted agent. He's my former bodyguard when I was still at home. I didn't expect Daddy would command him to follow me!

Siya pala ang nahahalata ko sa tuwing uuwi ako sa condo. I eyed him from head to toe. Umangat ang kaliwang kilay ko. At kailan pa siya naging doctor?!

"Miss Gray—"

"What is it, Ethan!" I gritted my teeth. Ngayon ko lang napagtanto. "Utos ito ni Daddy, 'di ba? Utos niya? Come on! Tell me!"

"Miss Gray, I'm just doing my job—"

"Fuck it!" I exclaimed. "What job, huh?! Spying on me? Then what? You're planning to kidnap my child?!"

"No, Ma'am. We don't have plans like that, and even if we have, I won't do such thing—"

"Then, why were you following me?! For what?"

"Like I said, I'm just doing my job—"

"What job is it, then?" I glared at him. He sighed heavily, trying to hold his patience. Our eyes then met.

"Observer. I'm tasked to observe your every action, Miss Gray." he answered.

Nanlaki ang mga mata ko.

"W-What? And why is that? Utos rin ba ito ni Daddy?!" nanlisik ang mga mata ko.

He stared at me for seconds, and then gradually, he nodded. Agad sumibol ang galit sa dibdib ko. That old toad! What? Akala niya ba susuwayin ko siya?!

Ha! I have disobeyed him for the nth time already, how lucky that old toad is, using my son against me and force me to obey him this time! I clenched my fists as I narrowed my eyes to Ethan.

"I'm harmless, Miss Gray. Don't worry, I'd make no harm to you and to the baby of yours. I won't do something that is against my principles."

For the nth time, naglandas ang aming mga mata. He's sincere, though.  Kailangan ko pa ring mag-ingat. Harmless, my foot!

Pinagmasdan ko si Ethan at pinasadahan ng tingin mula ulo hanggang paa. I could say that the Doctor suit suits him really well. His looks could deceive a lot of people here. I even thought he's a doctor.

"Hali ka, I have a favor to ask you," hinila ko siya hanggang first floor ng hospital.

Ang daming nakatingin sa amin habang tumatakbo, but I don't give a damn! Kailangan ko ng tulong ni Ethan ngayon. Won't do  something that's against his principles, huh?! Perfect!

"You seem in a rush, Miss Gray. Where are we going?" huminto ako sa tapat ng isang café. Hawak ko ang palapulsuhan ni Ethan saka siya hinigit. "Damn. Ano ba'ng trip mo, Ma'am?"

Umangat ang kilay ko sa tanong niya. Hinarap ko siya nang eksaktong makahanap ng pwedeng maupuan. Naupo kami roon, magkaharap.

"What favor you want to ask for? Make it quick!" namumulang aniya.

Kumunot ang noo ko at saka nilibot ang paningin sa paligid. My lips parted, the people, they were all staring right at our direction! Napapahiya akong nagyuko ng mukha.

What's this for? We're not celebrities, people! Tumikhim ako at hinuli ang paningin ni Ethan.

"I want you to be my ally." I said. He arched an eyebrow. "Can you spy on my father's plan or plans? Gusto ko malaman lahat ng galaw niya so if he will ask you or his men to abduct Asher, we are prepared."
