Another week has passed and then the next day, we will be staying in Ace's house. Hindi pa kami nag-uusap nang masinsinan sa bagay na iyan, siguro mamaya na pagkatapos ng trabaho niya.

He's back to be an office man again. I urged him to do so, though. Ayaw niya pa sanang bumalik sa trabaho pero pinilit ko talaga. I mean, his world should not always revolve around me and our son. May iba pa siyang responsibilidad na dapat tugunan.

"We have just finished lunch. Ikaw?" tanong ko.

Nanonood kami ni Asher kanina ng Nickelodeon nang tumawag si Ace. Kakatapos lang namin magtanghalian.

"Earlier before I call you. How was your day?"

I laid my son on the carpeted floor and let him play with the toys there. Sobrang dami ng mga laruan niya simula noong nag-mall kami. My son is very spoiled by his father.

"We're okay."

"I missed you already."

Napanguso ako. Para akong kinikiliti sa paraan ng pagkakasabi niya. His voice is teasing me, big time. Umirap ako.

"Parang hindi naman tayo nagkikita araw-araw niyan,"

"I missed you and our son. Nothing's wrong with that." giit niya kaya lalo akong napanguso.

Hinarap ko ang anak na patuloy lang sa paglalaro. I caressed his head.

"Wala ka na bang trabaho d'yan? Baka nakakadisturbo na ako, ah?"

"Tss. Who cares? You're my girlfriend now, they have no say. Fuck them!"

"Shh!" angil ko. "Stop cussing, Asher's here in front."

Bumuntong-hininga naman siya. Bago pa ako makadugtong ng sasabihin ay biglang tumunog ang doorbell. Napalingon ako sa may pintuan.

"What was that?"

"Uh... Someone's here. Kaka-doorbell lang." sagot ko 'tsaka tumayo.

"What? Sino? I'm not expecting any visitors... Sino iyan?" nalilitong sabi ni Ace.

Hinarap ko ang aking anak. "Stay here, baby, hmm? I'll be back in a minute."

Naglakad ako palapit sa pinto. Kinakabahan ako sa hindi malamang dahilan. Sino naman kaya iyon? For sure, it's not a delivery, wala naman akong in-order.

Was it a woman? Ace's fuck buddy? One of his whores? Iniisip ko palang, nagliliyab na ako sa galit. I don't want to get irrational. It is not their fault that they get attached to Ace. He must take all the blame. But I think it's partly their fault. Alam naman nilang walang sineseryoso si Ace, habol pa rin sila nang habol.

My blood boiled because of my suppressed annoyance. Kuhang-kuha talaga ng lalaking iyon ang inis ko! Kairita.

I took a heavy sigh before pressing the doorknob to open. I bit my lower lip as the door opened widely. Abot-abot ang tahip ng puso ko nang makita ang hindi inaasahang bisita.

"Surp—"

My eyes widened, also hers. Oh my God. My face immediately heated. I didn't expect that she would come here. And it seemed like she was about to surprise Ace! After a while, I faked a cough to maintain my cool.

Damn. It was Ace's mother. And I felt like a cat froze in a refrigerator in an hour. Shit. Paano ako magpapaliwanag? Ano'ng gagawin ko?

"Ma'am..." sabi ko.

Although my knees were wobbling, I had managed to greet her. After all, she is Ace's mother. Mag-isa lang siya, I wonder if she were here to surprise Ace. Hindi ba niya naisip na baka pumunta iyon sa trabaho?
