PROLOGUE

Prologue

"Dad, please. I won't."

Tears continuously rolling down to my cheeks as I shook my head.

"What?! Are you going to disobey me again, Syden?" my father shouted furiously.

Napapikit ako.

"Remember the last time you disobeyed me, you'd been fucked up! I hope this time you already learned your lesson." naging malamig na ang boses ni Daddy.

Tears falling, inangat ko ang paningin sa kanya. Inilahad niya ang mga papeles at dukomento sa akin. It took a minute for me to grab the papers.

My father smirked in triumph. I wiped away my tears and looked at the documents on my hand. Slowly, I walked towards his table.

Nilingon ko siya. His jaw clenched when I put back the papers on the table.

"Dream on, Dad." I said. "I'm not that dumb to commit the same mistake again. You gambled our money, be responsible to take it back! Don't use other people for your greediness."

A fuming anger was evident on my father's face. Sorry, Dad, but I won't let you use other people's money to pay your debts.

You committed it, be responsible for it.

Slowly, I walked closer towards the door. Pero bago ko pa man mahawakan ang siradora, nagsalita si Daddy na siyang nagpatigil sa akin.

"Should I ask my men to abduct your child now?"

Para akong binuhusan ng napakalamig na tubig sa sinabing iyon ng aking ama. Bumilis ang tibok ng puso ko at binalot ako ng hindi maipaliwanag na kaba.

Unti-unti ay napalingon ako sa aking ama. He's now smirking like evil. He seemed so happy to seeing my reaction. But...

"What are you talking about?"

I had tried my best to sound normal and unbothered though my heart was already beating abnormally.

My father's smile grew wider. "You can not forever hide your child from me, my beloved daughter. Have you forgotten how influential I am?" he mocked.

I burst out in anger and so much frustration. Damn! He shouldn't know! He shouldn't!

"D-Don't you dare..." my voice cracked.

Mas lalong ngumisi ang sakim kong ama. "Then, do what you're told. If you don't, you will no longer see your child—"

"Walang'ya ka! Please, don't use my son against me, Daddy!" I cried. I kneeled down to please him but he's as hard as rock. "I'm begging you!"

"Gawin mo ang pinapagawa ko kung ayaw mong mawala ang bastardong 'yon—"

"Hindi siya bastardo!" I said through gritted teeth.

"So?" ngumisi siya at itinuro ang mga papeles. "Make sure after this year ends, pirmado na ang mga papeles na 'yan."

Dahan-dahan akong tumayo at kinuha ang mga papeles. Ngumisi ang sakim kong ama.

"What, when, where. All the answers are in these documents. Read and understand every detail. Do your best to please the Walton's Head. Or at most... seduce the guy—"

"Dad!" asik ko. "I'm not like that!"

"Why? Hindi kita binigyan ng ganyang ganda para lang sa wala, Syden."

My fists clenched so tight. If only I knew, I shouldn't be here. Kung ganito lang pala ang mangyayari, sana hindi ko na pinaunlakan ang imbitasyon niyang pumunta ako rito. Stupid.

"Wala kang kwentang ama!"

Tumalikod ako at padabog na naglakad. Lumabas ako sa pesteng opisina niya. Tears falling down to my cheeks, and it caught much attention from our employees. And hell I care!

Pumara agad ako ng taxi at sumakay. Sinabi ko sa driver kung saan ang tungo and then he started the engine.

Dumating ako sa condo na tinutuluyan ko. When I entered my unit, nakita ko agad ang dalawa sa living room. I managed to smile and walked towards them.

"Eunice..." I called her but she hushed me. She pointed out my son there, who's now peacefully sleeping.

Napabuntong-hininga ako nang makita ang anak. The bubble of problems immediately popped when I looked at my boy's face.

He's still five months old kaya sa crib ko siya pinapatulog. I can't suppress a smile.

"How's he?"

"Okay naman. Good boy na siya, in fairness." humagikhik si Eunice. Nilingon ako at tinaasan ng kilay. "You? How's the daughter and father conversation?"

I rolled my eyes.  Umupo ako sa sofa kung saan malapit sa crib. The memory earlier pops in my mind.

I feel threatened now. No, I can't risk my baby. Wala rin akong magagawa kung hindi sundin ang sakim kong ama. Bumuntong hininga ako.

"Oh. Parang hindi maganda ang nangyari, a?"

"Sort of."

I bit my lower lip and handed her the document. Her brows shut.

"Ano 'to?"

"Pagkain. Boba lang?"

Ngumuso siya sa pabalang kong sagot.

"Ayaw kong basahin kaya ikaw nalang."

I shrugged.

"Tss. Napasubo ka. Bl-in-ackmail ka, 'no?" she smirked.

"Oh, please! Ayaw ko nang maalala!"

She started reading the papers. Nakikinig naman ako.

"Walton group of Companies. Walton Corp. with a market Capitalization of 1.68 trillion U.S dollars as of this year. Walton Corporation is the world's largest company in this year. They manage the most recognizable tech brands: Microsoft, Apple, Amazon, and Google. Wow!" she exclaimed.

"Summit holdings, Capital holdings, foods and beverage Companies, food corporation. Grabe, tiba-tiba ang yaman! Ito pa, Banking, oil industry— teka nga, ang yaman nito, a. Ano'ng ipinagawa sayo?"

I crossed my arms and spoke. "The old toad wants me to close a billion dollar deal with that Walton Corp's CEO. I need it before this year ends or else...." nilingon ko ang anak ko. "Kukunin niya ang anak ko."

"That sucks!" Eunice commented. "Your father is sick!" she added. "So, paano kung matigas ang CEO?"

Bumuntong hininga ako. "No other option... I'll seduce him."

Humagalpak ng tawa si Eunice.

"Yeah, right. Go Syden, I'll cheer you up!" And then she continued reading the papers. "Well, tiba-tiba ka dahil bata pa ang CEO. He's still a 28-year-old, fucking trillionaire."

I looked at her. "Really?"

"Yes, and oh! May picture pa nga. Wait... teka... parang..." nanlaki ang mga mata ni Eunice like she couldn't believe what she just saw.

"Oh my God! No way, No way talaga!"

"Shh... Ano ba kasi 'yan?" kunot noong tanong ko. Ipinakita niya sa akin ang imahe ng CEO ng Walton Corp.

Halos lumuwa ang mata ko nang makita at ma-proseso sa isip ang lalaki.

"What the hell?" I exclaimed. He's... He's...

Napalingon ako sa gawi ng anak ko. Ibinalik ko ang paningin sa picture. Nagkatinginan kami ni Eunice.

She mouthed 'O' and then covered her mouth with her palms. Bumilis ang tibok ng puso ko habang nakatingin sa imahe ng lalaking iyon.

Hindi ako nagkakamali...

"O to the M to the G!" Eunice exclaimed and looked at me.

"You're going to... seduce your baby's father!?"
