Chapter 26: Coronation

In light of their victory against Marley, Victoria had shown the unlucky prince just how 'useless' she is and Levi had to stop her from killing the poor guy, which he did himself, eventually, Historia is being crowned queen, Victoria is the youngest, but she helped the most, however she refused the position when it was offered. "So now what?" Levi asks "Hmm, well Historia will be the busiest, so I guess I have more free time to spend with you" Victoria says "We never got around to do a camping trip" "I'm not sure you're allowed to go camping" Mikasa points out. "Eren's trial was today" Armin says walking in "And I may have made him realize exactly where I stand on the matter, he was begging for help, but I didn't give it" "Sure let's go camping, but Kenny's coming too" Levi says earning a groan from all four "Duly noted" Armin sighs.

Historia and Victoria visit Eren the second day he's stuck in the dungeon and Historia tilts her head "Why are you wearing that cloak?" she asks "Found it in the mansion, besides, it's warm" she says and she mumbles something about Levi having to wash it three time before she was allowed to wear it making the new queen laugh. Eren watched the two as Historia sits down and the other leans against the wall and his eyes widen "Commander..." he mumbles making the two royals share a glance, the blonde confused while the other one sighs "Okay then" Victoria says and she looks at the guy who ruined their life "Do you know how easily I could kill you and no one suspect a thing?" she asks tilting her head "Easy" Eren mumbles "But Historia won't let that happen" "Really?" Historia says "You got our sister killed, you got Mikasa's parents killed! Who else do you have to get rid of before you see there's a damn good reason we're not disbanding the gangs?!" she ask clenching her fist "What do you mean?" Eren asks "They keep the criminals in check, the Ackermans control the inner city, the Titans the outer city" Victoria says "And with the bar burned down it's only a matter of time before they lose control" she adds crossing her arms "Which is your fault" she adds "But why did you say commander?" "This scene is familiar" Eren says "Only this time... I'm not... chained..." "Why would we chain you?" Historia asks "I don't know" Eren says, but he looks confused at it "Eren" Victoria mumbles slowly moving towards the cell, backing away when he lungs for the cloak and he says, after realizing what he did "Can I see that?" he ask, but the princess shakes her head "No, Levi washed it three times before I could wear it, if he hears you touched it he'll wash it again" "But I-" "I said no!", Historia speeds towards her sister "Okay easy" she whispers "How about you go see Levi, go on your camping trip and I'll inform you when you've returned?" "If I find out he hurt you-" "Vi, you don't have to worry, I have Ymir". Levi frowns when his girlfriend is deposited in his care "Sorry about that, she wouldn't leave otherwise" Ymir says "It's alright, see you in a few days" Levi says "Also, I believe Eren made a move to grab the cloak and she got pissed", this earns the princess a confused look "I'll explain later" she mumbles.

"He did what?" Hanji and Levi asks when they hear what happened "Well Historia sat down on the only chair there, so I made the obvious decision to lean against the wall next to her and he said 'Commander', but he can't have remembered" "Interesting" Hanji says "Levi, Des, we're leaving" Mikasa says "Keep an eye on the brat" Levi says.

They camp out in a cabin, Kenny's old hunting cabin, so there are only two bedrooms "No" Victoria says when Isabel is trying to get her to take the last room "I slept in worse places then on a couch" "Isabel, it's fine" Kenny says "Besides, you can share the room with Armin since there are two beds there" "Fine" Isabel says and Victoria looks at the fire in the fireplace "Hey Levi" she says "Do you think there'll be others?" "Maybe" he says and Kenny leans back in his chair, the others are putting their stuff away "What do you say we scare the idiots?" "Scare them?" Levi asks looking at his uncle "Keep them on their toes" Victoria says "What's the plan?" she asks "Plan?" Isabel asks while walking down the stairs "Yes, for dinner" Levi deadpans "I figured we could make what we brought and hunt after dinner for tomorrow's food" Kenny says "We'll have a better chance if we hunt tomorrow, Des is about to fall asleep" Mikasa says "Des?" Kenny asks "Middle name nickname" Victoria explains "It makes me feel more like myself and less like the person everyone expects" "They do tend to have expectations yeah, how do you deal with it?" Kenny asks earning a grin "Plan the murders of the court in my head, one time I had to actually kill one out of self defense" Victoria points out earning a few horrified looks "Bastard shouldn't have attacked me in the graveyard" she mumbles making Kenny laugh "Now I gotta know what happened" "That's a story for another time, right Levi?" "Yes, wouldn't want to ruin your appetites" he agrees and Mikasa's eyes widen "That was you?" she asks earning a slight nod "Will you tell us later?" Armin asks earning a shrug.

They end up sharing it well after dinner "So I was visiting graves, as one does in a graveyard, when a noble walked up to me" Victoria says "Quite rude as well. I was just visiting my mother's grave when I heard footsteps on the leaves, when I turned around I saw a stuffy noble march up fo me", she pauses to give a demonstration about how he walked "And he made a comment that I'm the kings charity case because my grandmother was a Reiss, anyway, he attacked me and I don't remember what happened afterwards besides being carried by Levi to Mikasa's house" "She dodged him, tripped, hit her head and managed to trip the noble who then hit his head on a recently cut down tree, she took the knife and stabbed him, multiple times" Levi says casually, as if he's talking about the weather "Yep and then I met Levi, his first impression of me was that I was bloody" "You weren't that hurt" Levi deadpans "And since then those two have been inseperable, imagine if Levi hadn't gone to the graveyard that evening" "They still would've met through me" Armin points out "True, but I imagine the dynamic would be different" Kenny says "You knew?" he asks looking at Mikasa "I knew what happened because Levi told me, but I didn't realize it was Des" she says "Frieda forgave me, so did the king" Victoria mumbles as she buries her face in Levi's chest "And we're changing the topic" he says "Right, hunting" Kenny says "Killing things rarely cheers people up Kenny" Armin says "No, but sometimes it's good fun" Kenny says.
