Chapter 2: The Truth

It has been 3 weeks since Destiny joined the Survey Corps and Levi was rather enjoying her company on late night walks, the only time she wasn't spending time with Mikasa and the group "So you don't have a horse yet even though we have an expedition this week?" Levi asks earning a nod "Erwin thinks I should skip this one" Destiny says while stretching "You know Levi, it's actually nice talking to you like this again" she says making Levi asks "What do you mean again? When Erwin brought you it was the first time I saw you", Destiny looks down and she shakes her head "Never mind", her suspicions were just confirmed "I really should go and get some rest" she says and turns around heading back to the building making Levi feel awfully empty for some reason. At the room Mikasa looks up from reading a book "You're back early" she says, but gets ignored by her best friend who just heads to bed. The next morning Jean notices something "Hey Destiny's not with you" he says and Sasha says "She said she wasn't feeling well, but she looked fine", Erwin walks over "I need to speak with Destiny, do you know where she is?" "In bed" Mikasa says and the Commander nods before walking on. "It's weird, she also came back earlier then normal, she ignored me as well" Mikasa says, she knew the girl's past, but wondered what could have caused her to act that way "This will be boring training" Eren says and Armin points out "You never once beat her".

That evening however Destiny does show up for dinner "Evening" she mumbles while munching on some bread "You look horrible" Hanji says running over "Did you even sleep enough?" "She didn't" Erwin says before Destiny can make something up "Hey Shitty Glasses, don't bother her, I'm sure she knows she looks terrible" Levi says and Destiny shrugs "Didn't feel like brushing my hair, I don't look that bad do I?" she asks and Mikasa looks at her blankly before getting up to put her friend's hair in a ponytail. This makes Hanji curious what happened between her and shorty, since everyone knew they took late night walks together. After dinner everyone heads to bed and Levi stops Destiny "So are you still coming?" he asks making the girl look at him and she says "No Corporal, I'd rather spend time with the girls", she walks of with Mikasa and Sasha and Mikasa asks "So he forgot you?", she earns a nod making Sasha rather curious what they were talking about "Truth or dare this evening" she says before running off leaving her two friends with no chance or time to refuse.

That evening during truth or dare everyone is waiting for the two who really hate the game, Mikasa and Destiny, once they sit down as well Sasha says "Destiny truth or-" "Truth" the white haired girl cuts her off "Meanie... anyway how do you know the corporal?" "Childhood friends" Destiny answers with a blank face and she looks at Ymir "Truth or dare" she says earning a smirk "Dare" "I dare you to steal the Commanders tea supply and make us all some tea in the kitchen, then come back. Without getting caught" Destiny says making the taller female get up and leave the room, rather confident. They wait for a while and Christa asks "Shouldn't we check on her?" "Nah, she probably got caught, if she had been paying attention these past days she would know Levi is about to leave HQ, passing Erwin's office" Destiny says smirking slightly and not a second later the door opens and Ymir walks in plopping down and Levi clears his throat making everyone turn to him "I heard this was your dare Destiny" he says making the girl stand up "What if it was?" she asks crossing her arms and everyone stays quiet "I would say good dare, but if Erwin had caught her she would have been in more trouble and you would be as well" Levi says making she girl raise an eyebrow "You mean he would have punished me for playing truth or dare? That's funny" Destiny says and Sasha looks between the two, if they knew each other then shouldn't they be at least nicer to each other "Don't ask" Mikasa warns her "You're arrogant, why didn't you join the Military Police with that attitude?" Levi asks, this makes Destiny clench her fist and her gaze turns into a glare "Corporal, I know I hate you, but you should back away" Mikasa says as Destiny slowly walks to him "Shouldn't we stop her?" Sasha asks, but Mikasa says "No", Levi looks at Mikasa and asks "Why should I?", though he barely dodges a dagger aimed at his head which is now stuck in the wall "Oi brat, watch where you aim" he says and Destiny says "I was aiming there for your information" "Why the hell would you aim at my head?" he asks and Destiny walks past him taking her dagger and she runs of "What the hell's wrong with her?" he asks and Mikasa says "Because Corporal, you forgot her, that's what happened", Levi looks at her and Mikasa says "When you got out of the underground she was left there, now Erwin got her out and she was happy to know at least one of her best friends was alive, but you forgot her", Levi looks at her and then the way Destiny ran "Since you seem to know her the best what do you think she'll do now?" he asks and Mikasa says bluntly "Suicide mission, which she could just do on her first expedition".

Destiny enters Erwin's office making the Commander look up "What is it at this time of the day?" he asks and the girl says "Let me go on the expedition" "No, you could get killed" Erwin says standing up as he notices the dagger "You didn't aim at his head did you?" he asks, but doesn't get and answer "That's the point Erwin" Destiny says looking down "That's why you have to let me go, I don't care if I get killed, at least I'll be with friends who would never forget me" she says and drops her dagger. Erwin walks over to her and hugs her "I won't let you kill yourself Destiny, no matter what the situation" he says and sighs "But if you really want to go then I guess I can't stop you".
