Chapter 15: Finally vacation

Deciding to let Hanji do her research the five are making the house livable, even adding some new rooms as well "Guys, tomatoes are ready" Destiny says walking in with her basket, Farlan and Levi are staring at her though "Guys, I know there's dirt on my face" she says tilting her head "Sorry, I've just never seen you in a dress" Levi says "Mika insisted" Destiny points out "Besides, this is pretty comfortable, but if you need someone to blame, Isabel is rubbing off off me, but Mika's wearing a dress too". "Potatoes are probably done" Mikasa says "I used to live on a farm, so that's useful", when Isabel walks in she's soaking wet, but she has fish "Now that we have three rooms" Levi says "Who's sharing with who?" Farlan asks "I'll take the small room" Isabel yells running upstairs "Did she just-" "take the smallest room-" "by choice?" Destiny, Levi and Farlan ask making Mikasa laugh, sometimes she forgot they were best friends "I'll share with Levi, I'm claiming the master bedroom!" Destiny says heading upstairs as well, making Levi chuckle "I guess I should follow her" he says "It's still weird to see him like that" Mikasa points out "Well she's the only one who can make him like that" Farlan explains "You probably shouldn't get too much used to it" "I guess" Mikasa says, no one would know how he is now though "At Headquarters he doesn't show this side, only occasionally patting her head when she's doing something weird, her mood always improves afterwards" "Let's just enjoy this" Farlan says getting a nod "Let's go see what we're left with".

Levi makes breakfast the next day and he's surprised to see Mikasa up that early for once "I'll help" she says "Where's the-" "Green box" he answers "Des suggests we color code it for now, but I don't see the point, we'll have to return before the vacation is over" "True" Mikasa says as they cook in a comfortable silence "Morning you two" Destiny says with a yawn "I forgot how much Isabel snores sometimes, anyway, I'll go and check the fields" "Not happening, it's raining, you're annoying when you have a cold" Levi says "Then come with me" she says heading towards the door while pulling up the hood of the cloak "Stubborn ass" Levi mumbles, but he doesn't follow her. When Levi peeks outside because breakfast is ready he hears a dagger hit a tree, so he goes outside "Nothing's ready yet" she says "Okay what's bothering you?" "I had a nightmare, you... didn't wake up from that coma and Erwin said you were a lost cause and everyone else blamed me" she says "And eventually Hanji said you died" "Anything else?" he asks hugging her "E-Erwin and Hanji send me back to the Underground" "Des, look at me" he whispers "I'm here, right in front of you, if Mikasa ever let you go back there under any circumstances I would kill her if she didn't get you back" he says "Am I making myself clear?", when he gets a nod he smiles "Now let's go in" "Okay".

Breakfast is filled with an awkward silence and Levi suspected Mikasa had heard the conversation, but that was fine, saves him a lecture "We're stuck inside" Isabel comments "Ah, I wanted to fix the chicken coop today" Farlan and Destiny say at the same time making then look at each other "Red" Destiny says "No, blue" Farlan counters "Make the damn thing rainbow colored if you have to, but you're not going outside in this weather" Levi says "We have to leave soon anyway, who's to say we have time for that" "It would be a shame if Hanji showed up again" Mikasa says "And if you two can't decide on a color make it white or light grey" "Guess that'll work" Farlan mumbles "I agree with Mikasa" Levi says "Fine" Destiny mumbles crossing her arms "I made bread by the way, last night when I couldn't sleep" "I know, I saved it from Isabel's enormous appetite" Farlan says with a grin.

Being stuck inside is the worst for two of them, so Mikasa decides to look for anything they can do, a bored Destiny wasn't fun, combine that with a bored Isabel and it's hell "I found a sketch book and some pencils" Mikasa says, but it's out of her sight a few seconds later "One less person bored" Levi says from his chair as he flips the page of his book, Mikasa is fixing broken clothes while Farlan had followed Levi's example when given a book. "Just relax" Destiny comments when Isabel starts pacing in front of them "No other people, no titans, no duties, just relax" Levi adds surprising Mikasa "You're slouching a bit" Farlan says "Just a sore neck, nothing too bad" "I can fix that" Isabel says and she glances at Destiny, who gives her a slight nod before returning to her drawing and Mikasa looks a bit confused. "She gave him a massage once without asking like she usually did and let's say she was glad Levi could hold her back, those two were thick as thieves in the Underground and we suspected he might have had feeling for Des during that time" Farlan explains "He did, he was just way too stubborn to admit it" Destiny says "Same with you though" Isabel deadpans "At least I didn't forget him" Destiny counters before realizing neither of the two knew that bit of information "Forget I said that" she quickly adds "Erwin took the dagger" Levi explains dryly "And he was traumatized" Mikasa mumbles before tossing some clothes to Farlan "I guess that makes sense, you didn't really spend any time with her alone" he says "Besides, Isabel and I woke up inside the walls with most memories gone, but they gradually came back within a month" "However, we never forgot our time at the underground". When the rain stops both Farlan and Destiny run outside "White or light grey?" "Eh let's make it bark brown" Farlan says "Just to mess with them", Levi sighs and he takes the sketchbook "How good is her memory?" Mikasa asks "Depends on the subject" Levi says "Here we were cleaning the house, but Des had a sprained ankle, so she couldn't help". Isabel is checking their food supplies "We'll last for the rest of the vacation, now all we need is a campfire and some logs" "Let's get those then" Levi says so the three go find stuff to make a campfire and some logs to use as seats.
