Character rights belong to Rick Riordan, I own just the plot and any original character I might create. Only gonna say this once so pay attention.

This was my first attempt at writing a book, so please, bear with me (or is it bare?🤔)

After chapters 40, the story gets a little...bland. It was due to a personal reason, but I'm working on fixing it.

There was an enormous explosion in the sky, and with that, the war had finally come to an end.

Gaea was gone.

A cheer rang from the armies of the heroes, disbelief and happiness evident on their faces. But the losses and deaths we faced still cast a long and heavy shadow on us. It was going to take time.

My thoughts drifted to the Olympians. It was a sight to behold when they rode on their chariots from the sky. But the more I thought about it, the more I realised that they didn't do much for the most part.

Where were they when we needed them during our quest?

And Leo, oh Leo. I can't bring myself to believe that he's gone.

I was brought out of my thoughts by twelve flashes of golden light: The Olympians had arrived.

Zeus stepped forward from the rest, a proud look on his face.

I instinctively rolled my eyes, which made a few who saw it snicker.

"Demigods!" The thunder god yelled. "We have emerged victorious!"

"The threat is over!" He proclaimed. The gods took a pose as though expecting cheers and claps.

Much to their dismay, we were too tired to stroke their ego.

"Well, um," Zeus cleared his throat. "You are to be in Olympus within the hour!" The crowd broke into protests, many wanting to faceplant on their beds.

"Mr Zap- I mean Zeus!" I said, raising my hand.

"What is it, Jackson?" He asked, clearly annoyed.

"We need a week to rest and mourn our fallen," I said. "Not all of us are immortal."

   Zeus's eye twitched.

"You dar-" he began, but fortunately, Apollo came to my rescue.

"Absolutely," the sun god said, placing a hand ahead of Zeus.

I nodded in gratitude to him before turning and walking towards the mess hall.

Zeus mumbled curses but didn't do anything to stop me. He nodded at the rest of the Olympians, and I covered my eyes as flashes of light nice more filled my vision.

When I opened my eyes, the gods were gone. I looked at the battleground, a mess of blood and armour.

The Naiads were not going to be happy.

"Oh, fun." I sighed and walked away.
