I Get Punched in the Face

One moment you're having a chat with the person next to you, and the next moment you are being punched in the face by the same person.

As soon as I heard those words, I didn't even get a moment to register what was said before mysterious tentacles came out of nowhere and grabbed me and Danwer. Before I could even react, both of us were thrown across the room like some kind of beach balls.

I hit the floor and rolled a few times before stopping. Danwer was much fortunate that I was. He had something to break his fall...me.

It was either the fact that whatever grabbed us had brilliant accuracy or that it was just my luck that Danwer landed on me. At this point, both options seemed extremely possible. I groaned and pushed him away from me.

"That's gonna leave a mark" I said in an irritated voice, rubbing my shoulder and rolling over to my side. Another roar filled the air and I hurriedly got up. Two tentacle appeared out of the shadows and grabbed me and Danwer by the leg, lifting us from the ground.

I tried summoning my sword but the mass of flesh coiled itself around me, effectively leaving me immobilised. Danwer's condition was the same. We both hung upside down, about sixty feet above the ground.

And then...we saw it. Out of the shadowy corners, a creature stepped out. It was around twenty feet long and it's body had scales that gave it a resemblance of a crocodile. It stood upright on two legs and where it's arms should have been, long red tentacles of different thickness sprouted.

It's face...it's face was horizontally elongated, giving it a striking affinity to that of a hammerhead shark. It's mouth had various pincers, each moving independent of the other. A foam like substance formed inside the mouth, which I assumed was its saliva.

<imagine a mouth like the alien from the movie...creepy

The saliva dripped to the floor in drops, making a sizzling hole on the ground wherever it touched. The liquid looked like it had enough potency to burn through reinforced steel...nasty.

"This is bad...right?" asked Danwer. I looked at him with an expression that stated 'you don't say'. The creature suddenly started to shake its head. I watched as it slowly twisted its head backwards, revealing a human face on the other side. It was a horrific sight to watch.

A wicked grin appeared on its face and its eyes glowed with malice. It opened its mouth to revealing razor sharp canines, resembling that of a vampire, and spoke in a low voice from before.

"Lightbringer! I shall feast on your flesh and drink your blood! How unfortunate for you to come all this way, only to die when you're so close to the gates" it said. It's breath was so rotten that even from this far away, I wanted to puke my guts out. At least know i know that we're are close to the doors of the Pit.

I thought of a way to escape, my mind formulating plans and analysing the situation. I reached out my senses to find anything that I could use. I was momentarily taken aback from the sudden influx of information.

The cavern we were in, had an enormous amount of sulphur in it. Unlike before however, this time the sulphur was buried deep under layers of hard rock. Gradually, ideas came to my head and I settled on what I thought was the best chance of us getting out of here alive.

"Let's not feast on my flesh yet. He is more tasty than me" I yelled, pointing at my unfortunate companion. Danwer looked stupefied, to say the least. I hurriedly told him of my plan telepathically, to which he seemed reluctant but agreed.

"Yeah! Eat me! I'm delicious" Danwer started to yell, though I could sense sarcasm in his voice. I had a feeling that he was mentally shouting a storm of curses at me.

The monster looked confused for a moment. But it soon regained its senses and started pulling Danwer towards its mouth. Danwer started to scream and tried to free himself, all in vain. I knew that I had to act quickly or else Danwer would be a steaming pile of flesh and bones.

Now that the monster was distracted, I, with all my might, pulled out my right hand from the tentacle's grip. I raised it upwards, or downwards depending on how you see it, and summoned the Sword of Eden. With one clean slit, I cut the tentacle that held me and brought out my wings to stop me from falling. The appendage uncoiled itself from me and fell to the ground.

The monster gave out a loud roar of pain from the loss of its limb and threw Danwer away. I  beat my wings and rushed after him, catching him in my arms just before he hit the ground. I flew both of us away to a safe distance before landing on the ground.

Danwer rushed out of my grip and stood up straight. He placed his hand on his chest and gave out a deep sigh. The next thing I know, he turns and punches me on the face.

"Ouch! That hurt!" I screamed indignantly "What was that for?!"

"Let me see...oh I don't know, maybe for making me monster bait!" He shrieked, throwing up his hands to convey his point. I scoffed and rubbed my nose to ease the pain. Danwer looked past my shoulder to where the creature was, roaring in rage and pain.

"What do we do now?" Ashe asked. I sighed and looked at him seriously. "Now..." I started, knowing that this plan wasn't exactly a safe one...

"We blow this place to hell"
