Guard: " Going home early tonight? " Nakangiting tanong ng matandang guard ng building na pinagta-trabahoan ko sabay sipat sa relo niya.

Hindi na ako na surprisa sa naging reaction nito. In my 18 months of working here, this is the first time na umuwi ako ng maaga. Nakita rin siguro nito na bitbit ko ang aking bag kaya alam nitong pauwi na ako. Pag lumalabas kasi ako ng building during lunch or kung may bibilhin ako sa labas, ay tanging wallet lang at phone ang dala ko.

Me: " Yes Evan. My best friend from the Philippines will be moving in this weekend. " Tukoy ko sa pagdating ni Kingsley. " I will also be going out with my friends tonight. " Nakangiting sabi ko parin and swiped my ID on the ID scanner.

The group of friends I'll be hanging out with tonight is SB19. Actually, tonight will be the third time I'll be hanging out with them. Nandito kasi ang mga ito sa NYC kasi may 6 months long vacation sila.

Lihim akong napangiti nang maalala ko 3 weeks ago when I received a surprise call from Stell. Though once in a while ay nag kukumustahan naman kami through social media, but hindi nagsabi ang mga ito na pupunta sila dito sa NYC.

I can still remember that it was the night of Thanksgiving when I received a call from them and invited me to Thanksgiving dinner sa loft nila.

Thanksgiving is one of the biggest holidays na sine-celebrate talaga ng mga tao dito sa US. It's a celebration to give thanks for the last fall harvest. It falls during the 4th Thursday of November kaya it's a long weekend. Kaya mostly umuuwi talaga ang mga taga ciudad sa kani-kanilang homestate just to celebrate with friends and family.

As for me, my parents will definitely be working during the holidays because they're both surgeons so I didn't really have plans. Kaya I got very excited when I received that surprise call from Stell.  Until the realization of Ken being there hit me. Biglang nag dalawang isip ako. Because if you'll think about it, kung nandito ngayon ang ka grupo niya? Normal lang sigurong mag assume that he would definitely be there too.

I mean, though the break up was really painful and there were lots of " What if's " but after some time, I moved on. Because I had to move on. I already accepted that things between us are over now . I'm just doing my best to remember the good times and appreciate what we had and keep going with my life. Basically, it's back to normal life...right? But if you will see your ex for the first time after the breakup, normal lang naman sigurong hindi mo alam kong anong gagawin mo if ever. Maisip mong, WHAT THE HECK SHOULD I SAY OR DO WHEN I SEE HIM? Should I say Hi? Be cool and say " What's up? " or act just like nothing happened? The only thing I'm sure about is, it would definitely be awkward AF.

Naisipan kong magdahilan nalang. Na may sakit ako or busy, or whatever. But then I realized, it would be very unfair na putolin ko nalang din ang pagkakaibigan ko sa mga ka grupo niya just because it happened that they're my ex's bandmates. Napaka immature naman nun. After all, naging mabuting kaibigan ko din naman silang lahat. So I decided to say yes. Bahala na si Batman ika nga. But fortunately for me, hindi nakasama si Ken dahil daw pupunta ang pamilya nito sa California. For some reason, I felt more relieved than disappointed.
