Rosaline
"You again?" I mumbled to myself.
I didn't want to look at him any longer so I grabbed Claire's arm and pulled her away from him.
"Who is he? Why are we speed walking?" She asked me as I stop us in front of a food cart that looks and seems delicious since there were a lot of people and the food looks appetizing.
I let go of her arm and look behind her for a minute before answering her questions, "he...he was my ex. Let's just say we broke up in a bad way."
Her face scrunched in sadness as she glare behind her before smiling at me, "but now you have my amazing brother!"
I chuckled at her, "yup. And I wouldn't trade him for the world. He's my miracle."
She let out a sigh as she stares out into space with a dreamful look in her eyes, "I hope I find someone to have a good relationship with like you and Nicholas. A girl can only dream."
I laughed at her comment as we moved up in the line. When it was our turn I noticed how the worker was looking at Claire while I gave them Nicholas's card. I didn't want to make any assumptions but the look on Claire's face and the worker's face was not easy to not make any assumptions.
After our food was packed for us I could still see that they were stealing glances at one another. Look like Claire's dream boy has finally arrived.
"Claire. I'm going to go to the bathroom, ok?" I said when we found a spot.
She didn't look at me as she nodded her head. I mentally smiled at the two as I walk to the bathroom.
When I was finished I stepped out patting the extra water that wasn't dried on my skirt before walking back to the table. Before I could exit the hallway I was stopped by none other, Chad.
"What are you doing here? The men's bathroom is across from here, " I told him as I narrowed my eyes at his stilled figure.
He didn't say anything, instead, he walked up to me. I walk backward-looking around to see if anyone was there. Great, no one.
"I just want to talk."
I rolled my eyes.
"That's what they all say before something bad happens to the person they want to talk to, " I mumbled.
"I'm serious, " he said when he was just a foot away from me.
"Backup! I don't need you close to me!" I told him, keeping my arms in front of me as I step back a little.
"Forgive me, Rosaline, " I gagged.
Forgive him? As if!
"Excuse me? No. Just leave me and then I will think about forgiving you or not, " I said.
He shook his head.
"You're not understanding. I want us to get back together."
I froze as I dropped my arms and glared at him with pure hate, "do you hear yourself? Do you think you can show up and say that?! What happens to your baby mama? I'm not a replacement or a toy used when another is damaged."
The authority he has to show up saying that. I'm glad we are through. I can't believe I used to cry over him.
His face modified from calm to anger, "it's that Mafia King, isn't it! Just because he's powerful you're sticking to him? I never knew you were that lo-"
I ran up to him and punch his face, breathing heavily as I threw another punch knocking him out of balanced.
"Say one more word about me and you'll see how low I am, you piece of sh*t!"
I spat on him as I walk over him and back to the table. I wiped the invisible dust from my clothes as I walk back. My anger turns into happiness when I saw Claire talking happily with the worker that served our food earlier. When I came by the worker left, but before he left I saw them swap phones with each other.
"Am I'm seeing a new couple rising?" I teased her.
She blushed as she shook her head furiously, "n-no. Besides I recovered not too long ago, I don't think I'm ready for a relationship yet. Well, at least not for the next month or two, " she said whispering the last part.
"Hey, why are your knuckles so red?" She asked, changing the topic.
I look down at my knuckles and saw that it was indeed red. Some areas were a bit redder than others.
"Oh, this? I was rubbing my hands hard since there was a stain on it, " I lied.
"Oh, ok."
We both went quiet and start digging into the food. We both enjoyed the food as we finished the quick lunch within ten minutes.
"We should come here more often, " Claire said before she took a sip on her water.
"For the food or that guy?" I asked with a smirk on her face.
Her face turned red as she almost choked on her water, "for the food of course!"
"Sure, sure, " I teased.
After that, we cleaned up and went on with our shopping.
