Rosaline

"That jerk! Making me stress just to be allowed to sleep in my room." I scolded him in my mind.

I lay on the bed like I was supposed to and look at Mia who was sitting in the corner watching me.

"You know you can leave now. I'll be fine. I'm just resting, " I told her. It was starting to get super late and I didn't want her to get tired because someone made her look after an adult.

She was hesitant at first but the more I persuaded her she finally got up and left. I let out a sigh and laid back again. I just laid there blankly staring at the wall doing nothing.

"Sleep, " he said.

I didn't want to sleep. I didn't want him to let go of me. I was afraid for the first time. He was the only one who ever hugged my fear away.

"N-"

As if he understood what I was thinking he said, "Shoo. I'll be there when you wake up."

I hesitated at first but finally let sleep take over since I trust him. I saw him look at me with an unknown look on his face before falling on his arms with my eyes shut.

I shook my head and let out a frustrated noise. Why in the world was I thinking about that. I shivered at the memory and looked out the window. It was dark and the only light in the room was from the lamp next to me and the moonlight from outside.

I couldn't stop thinking about what happened earlier. I wanted to flush myself away but I knew that wasn't a good idea. I trash around the bed and groan at the small pain from doing that.

"I must be going crazy now."

He must have added some crazy air magic while I was stuck in that room!

Yes. That's the most reasonable reason I got for now, I thought as I nibbled on my fingertips.

-*-

A few days have passed since I fainted and everything was slowly gotten back to normal. I still haven't been informed about what happened that day. Speaking of that day, I barely get to see Nicholas. No more than 5-10 minutes a day. Not that I was complaining.

It was just a bit odd not seeing him as much as I normally did. But like I said before, not that I was complaining.

"Mia, I'm going to go to the bathroom then eat. Okay?" I told her when we finished making lunch.

I heard her said ok before I walk through the hallway.

-*-

Rinsing my hands then panting them dry, I walk out of the bathroom and walk back to the kitchen. But I stop in the middle of the hallway when I heard a conversation happening inside the door next to me.

I didn't want to be nosey but when I caught my name in the middle of the conversation I risk my life to listen to it.

"Should we tell her?"

I frown at that. Tell me what? They better not be kicking me out already!

I pressed my ear closer to the door and carefully listen to the conversation between Nicholas and some other guy I don't recognize.

"Yes, but not now. I still haven't wrap my head around this new information yet, " I heard Nicholas said.

"I suppose you are right, but make sure you tell her before they tell her first."

Who's they?

It went silent and then footsteps erupted in the silent room. I panic and ran to the bathroom the moment the door open. I place my hand on top of my chest as I let out a sigh of relief.

Almost got caught.

I slowly open the door and peek my head out the door when I felt like I stay inside the bathroom long enough.

"You can stop hiding now, " a voice whispered behind me.

I flinch and bump into the wall as I look up to see a man in the shadow. He steps out walking to me with his arms crossed across his chest. He looks to be about the same age as me, mixed as well. Half Asian, half white.

"Who are you?"

I never saw him before. Well, I never met anyone other than Nicholas, Jeremy, and Mia.

He smiled at me which made me feel a touch of warmness in my heart. As if I knew him. But I was certain I never met this guy before. Or maybe I met him at the store.

He sticks his hand out and I immediately look down at it, "I'm Noah."

"Huh?"

He still smiled and lift his extended hand forward, "I'm Noah and it's nice to meet you, little sis."

"Little sis?"

It was getting a bit weird. I slowly back away a little as he looks at me still. I heard a thunderstruck outside as he walks towards me.

"It was nice meeting you, Rosaline. It's time to bring you home."

He hit the side of my neck and I soon drop into his arms with my mind wrap around darkness.
