Rosaline

11:30 pm

It has been several hours since I woke up. My head was no longer hurting but the wound was still there, obviously. During those hours a maid came in and gave me a tray of foods. They help redo my bandage before they left me alone again. I was stuck in this unfamiliar room with no way out. I tried leaving once but two heavily muscular men blocked the doorway. They didn't have to say anything to make me run back inside the room.

My eyes were glued to the door the whole time after I failed to tempt to leave. My anxiety was growing bigger and bigger as time past. It was almost like someone was taking all the air away from me. Maybe it was the people in the painted picture.

Beep beep

I look away from the door and glance at the clock next to me. It was 12 am now. The time I will try and escape again. Unlike my first attempt.

I carefully rolled out of the bed, making sure I didn't hurt my already injured parts and tippy-toe to the door. I pressed my ear against the door and listen to any sound that I could detect. It was awfully quiet, but there was no time for me to get curious. I moved away from the door and nearly ran over to the window.

Fidgeting with the window, I held my breath when I heard some movement outside. The sound of footsteps and mumbling fill the room before it went quiet again. I close my eyes and yank the window open with all my might. My eyes widen when I opened it and saw how high up I am.

"Mama Mia!"

I cover my mouth from the sudden blurt, glancing back at the door. One second pass follows by a minute. The door remained close. I grab the blanket and tie it to the nearest steady thing. Making sure it was secure I threw the blanket out of the window.

"You can do this, Rosaline. You can do this," I mumble to myself. My hands grip the blanket tightly, like a rope, and like that, I climb out of the room. "Wait-never mind. I can't do this."

I grip onto the blanket tightly while staring straight down. Why was the ground so far away?! My hands nearly became the death of me when I heard voices from the corner of the house. I held onto a shriek when the flashlight flash to my side. The light stayed on my side for a little bit before vanishing, along with the voices. I let out a breath and carefully climb down. Well not so carefully.

Thump!

I rub my bottom from the sudden fall. My hands slip and made my fall down onto the grass. Luckily, I wasn't too far from the ground or I would have died before I could even escape from this place.

"What was that?"

Spoke too soon. Maybe I will die before I could even escape!

I scramble off the ground and ran for dear life. Shuffling noise was heard and shouting filled the air. But it was a blur to me. The cold wind blocked the sound of yelling as I ran straight into the trees. There better be some roads on the other side or so help me!

"Hey! Come back here!" They yelled at me. Light starts flashing at my sides.

"Hell no!" I screamed back.

I mentally slap myself. I just gave myself away. Jumping over roots and avoiding scraping my feet I outran the guards, but only to end up lost in the middle of the forest. After realizing that I was lost and the guards were no longer chasing me, I fell onto the ground and try to restore my breath and energy.

"Maaaajahahah"

"What was that?!" I jump up from my spot and scan the area that the noise came from. It was too dark to see anything. The trees were shielding the moonlight away from me making it extra dark out here. The hair on the back of my neck rise and goosebumps spread onto my entire body as the weird noise was heard again. I let out a bloody scream when I saw a shadow coming near me. It was hideous looking! I turn away from the creature and ran straight. Not knowing where I was going.

I look back once to see if it was following me, but only saw a squirrel holding a stick. I slow down running and tilt my head in confusion. I look back at the squirrel and blink a couple of times. The squirrel looks back at me and blinks a couple of times, too.

"Oh. Wow, " I said out loud when I came to the conclusion that the squirrel was harmless.

I sat back down but immediately stood back up and ran when the squirrel starts charging at me with the stick. I scream again and ran, I didn't even notice I ran out of the woods. I glance back, panting, and saw no squirrel. I let out a tired gasp and almost collapse but I didn't when I saw the roads. I jump in joy that I made it out and thank the squirrel. The squirrel was just helping me not scaring me.

Now all I got to do is wait for someone to help me drive to the nearest gas station. My head began thumbing again as I tap my foot on the ground. There was not a single car on the road, only the sound of grasshoppers and owl fill the air. I squat down and held cross my arms onto my knees as I stare down the road.

I don't know how long I doze off but I was awake by the sound of a car zooming in. I stood up and instantly start waving my hand aggressively.

"Hey, hey, HEY!"

The nice-looking jet black car stop in front of me when it came by. A smile made its way on my face when I thought I was finally going home or somewhere safe. I waited for the person to open their window but only got the door smacking me on the face. I fell back on the grass and rub my cheeks as the person open the door widely and step out.

A fresh pair of neatly clean shoes step on the muddy grass. My eyes trailed up to the person who seems very classy and wealthy. My heart did a little rollercoaster ride when my eyes connect to the familiar blue eyes.

He stares down at me as his lips curled up.

"Glad to see you again....bellissima."

Oh, snap.

I apologize for the long wait. I didn't feel like writing so I put this updated aside for a while. But here is the update. I hope you guys liked it.

Question - when do you guys go to school?
I'm going to school in about 3-4 days. Mostly nervous.
