Please, let me tell you the story of the strongest knight in Mondstadt

There once was a hero of Mondstadt. He was a great man who wielded a mighty claymore and a dendro vision. He was not only a great fighter, but the best bard in the current generation. His voice was heavenly and full of life.

This man came from a very wealthy family and would soon become an heir to his family's fortune. Every one loved him, his voice, his strength.

There is one time I remember where he just walked into the cathedral and found the Holy Lyre. He started to strum the beautiful instrument when guards came to stop him. He just smiled and rushed past them, signing his bards tales. He danced and sang around them.

After a bit, he made it out of the cathedral and started singing and dancing and running all around Mondstadt. All the people of the city started to chase him. He danced on the walls as people tried to shoot him down with their bows. I remember seeing the panic on his face, but continued to sing and dance and play.

He ran around with people behind him for several hours. I couldn't help but laugh as I watched him reenter the cathedral and back down into the Holy Lyre's room. He set down the instrument, dramatically turned around and bowed lowly. When he stood back up, a cheeky smile was on his face.

"I do hope you enjoyed my performance!" he laughed, "Though, I know that you'll need to arrest me now."

He carelessly put his arms forward, ready to be cuffed and taken away when the guards sighed. A cheeky smile still present on his face, he cocked his head to the side, letting his hair touch the ground.

"Or, could I just pay my bail now?"

He pulled from behind him a large sack of mora. He placed it into the hands of the head guard who just sighed and walked away. The young man couldn't help but laugh happily.

After a minute, he sighs and headed out of the cathedral once again and headed his way back home. I followed him, carefully and quietly.

He enters his house and immediately heads up the stairs and down the hall, though not to his room. He carefully enters her room and walks in. He steps quietly to the cradle and picks up a small baby wrapped in a blanket, a pink dress poking out from underneath. He cradles the baby in his arms and dances around the room, singing his song once again, but softer, kinder. He presses a gentle kiss to her forehead and smiles. He then began to sing a precious lullaby that I have never forgotten.

"My baby sister, I love you so. I'm excited to see you grow. Heaven's eyes in sight of you have been blessed. Kings, queens, bards and the rest. Such sweetness doth fill thy soul, I will make sure you reach your goal. Now the time has come for you to sleep, and heaven's heart will your beauty keep."

He presses another kiss to her forehead before placing her back down in her crib. He look over, directly looking at me, just a wisp, and winks.

"Make sure you take good care of her."

Four years have passed from that event, and I followed his instructions. I watched over his family, watching her grow, ever since her birth. I watched every day as he sang his lullaby to his sister, the only member of his family to care for her.

Four years. Only four years. That was the length of time she got to be with him.

The young man was now Twenty and Two years old, a great fighter, bard, and brother. But soon, that would come to an end. I watched as the Knights of Favonius called to those willing to fight against an aggressive batch of Hilichurls. He raised his hand high, his chested puffed out.

"I will go."

The crowed was solemn as they watched as he picked up his claymore and marched towards the gates of Mondstadt.

He fought masterfully. Every move was calculated and perfect. He fought valiantly, destroying everything that was in his way. That is, until the arrow.

Just as he thought he was finished with defeating his enemy, he smiled and waved to the gathering crowed lurking in gate. Just as he did so, an arrow shot him straight in the chest, piercing his heart. He gasped, his eyes going wide as he collapsed to the floor.

The little girl, only the age of four, froze. Her eyes were wide and I could hear the pumping of her heart. She rushed forward, screaming.

"BROTHER!"

Another knight charged forward, taking care of that last Hilichurl.

She bent down and held her brother's face in her hands.

"Wake up! Wake up brother!" she cried, tears streaming down her face.

The heavens seemed to understand the sadness that cast itself upon Mondstadt, the winds aiding their covering clouds.

Another week passed when his body was buried. In remembrance of him, and how he was Mondstadt's greatest bard, they carved a replica Holy Lyre for him to be buried with. His coffin was lowered into the ground as noble families watched.

A young boy with red hair watched the girl sob, he being only eight years.

The winds carry souls and spirits and their voices. I noticed that the young man was there, though, he was not watching his body be covered with dirt. Instead, he was kneeling in front of his little sister. The wind can only carry so much of a soul's voice, but I still managed to hear the few words he spoke.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry."

His hands cupped her face as he pressed his forehead against the girl's, even through she could not, and would not be able to feel his touch.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry."
