Thomson sighed as he finished packing his bag and he looked around him, part of himself felt as if he had failed. He remembered his own struggles at their age, trying to survive on his own. He didn't want that for them or any of his family in the future. As he walked into the living room he couldn't help but smile though, Tommy was sat on the couch with Henry, he had never seen his son so still and quiet before, tubbo was reading despite the struggle he had doing so but in Thomson's mind he had a wonderful vocabulary and grasp over his reading despite the hindrance. He looked for his third child a bit as he realized she wasn't with either of them, it wasn't until he heard a soft bubbling that he turned to their basement, going down the worn wooden steps he couldn't help but smile, there sat his daughter at the brewing stand that was older then her own existence. He had so many fond memories of times similar to this as he sat at the table careful not to break her focus, he had taught them how to brew potions soon after tubbo arrived in their lives, y/n and tubbo excelled at it followed by Wilbur but Tommy never took well to it like the other and this order was true for enchanting as well though Wilbur didn't have them use it often. Two of his most values skills had passed on well but fighting was another story, none of them did the best as Tommy often got ahead of himself, Wilbur wasn't well acquainted with weapons leaving him a bit awkward, tubbo often shut down or he panicked and y/n really just never had enough interest in fighting like the boys, she had always preferred to just drop a potion and make a clean getaway then confront any problems head on.

As Thomson watched her read over the recipe in the book he hummed softly "when did you get so good at reading enchantment?" He asked softly as to not startle her

She looked up as he spoke and seemed to think for a bit "when fundy was born I had to babysit a lot with Tommy and tubbo and we got bored a lot so I used to read... fundy actually read enchants first because of it...I thought Wilbur would kill be for it but he was just happy we managed to teach him some other then swears" she said as she smiled fondly and she put out the brewing stand and closed the book

"Hey dad... do... do you think we'll ever be a proper family again?" She asked as tears swelled up in her eyes as she looked to the now concerned man.

"What do you mean hun?" He got up and rather then just hug her he picked her up and held her, a habit he picked up when they were little and had yet to drop

"I mean- Wilbur never wants to stay anymore and fundy doesn't even think of us as family anymore dad- I'm scared tha-that when we get older we'll be like that too- b-but I don't wanna leave you o-or Tommy and Tubs" she had grown quite a large fear of losing them over the span of the war and she feared they'd lose their connection

"Dear...your being silly Wilbur..and fundy are and will always be family Just like you me and the boys...doesn't matter what happens...you'll always be my little dove, Tommy and tubbo will always be my trouble makers and Wilbur will always be your big brother ok? No matter what..." he said as he gently wiped her tears. He held her close and just held her there as he hummed for her until he fell her rigid breaths calm and he set her back down

"C'mon- let's go get the boys and go around town....it's been a while since we've been out" he said and gently led her upstairs to the living room where Tommy was laying Henry on the couch to sleep and Tubbo was cleaning up a glas that had fallen on the floor.

"What happened?" He asked as he went and took over the cleaning so tubbo didn't hurt himself.

"Henry kicked his bottle in his sleep-" Tommy said as he pet the fluffy calf he had taken the time to bathe and groom earlier that day.

Thomson just nodded "well- get your shoes on we're headed into town ok?" He smiled a bit softly at them.

Once they had made sure Henry couldn't reach anything and they all had shoes and personal items they headed out, the little town had barely changed since they had been there last. The only new thing had to be the guards there, there was two stationed at the main roadway entries on either side of the town, none of them worried about it though as Thomson being the only one to leave anytime soon had a paper he could pull and show them if they tried to bother any of them, a bit of a cheap tactic but they didn't intend to leave and all the townspeople had no intentions of turning on their own people, the town had no more then twenty families that had all went their since they had, everyone knew everyone and they were a close community that had caused no problems for the king at all
