The look on my father's face was unmistakable. It was cold and stoic but I knew him enough to know what was running in his head. It wasn't just suspicion. He already made a conclusion in his head and he believes it.

Why else would I be coming out from this room? I already covered up my scent but I was going to fix myself in the restroom to make sure I wasn't a mess. No best actress award could help me elude this mess.

I was so careful not to get caught by the media or the blackmailer that I never thought of being caught by my own father.

"Father," I acknowledged.

"Follow me." He turned, as if he was already sure I was going to do what he wanted without a fight.

I didn't though. I couldn't move from where I was standing. He must have felt that because he stopped on his tracks and gave me a calculating stare.

"Follow me or I'll find out who you were with inside that room. Your choice, Persephone."

Wala sa sariling susunod din naman ako dahila ng tanging nasa utak ko lang ay ang makausap na siya para matapos na.

I spotted the security detail of my father who were standing by the end of the hallway. Mukhang nagbabantay lang sila doon. Sila ba ang sumunod sa akin? Why did my father have me followed?

My father remained silent as we waited for the elevator. Nang dumating ito ay inangat niya lang ang kamay para hindi sumunod sa amin ang guards niya sa loob. May isang elevator pa naman kaya malamang ay doon sila sasakay.

He pressed the floor where the venue is. He remained composed as he stood in front of the door. Hindi ako nililingon.

"You're cheating on your fiancé." It was a statement, not a question. Huminga siya nang malalim nang hindi ako sumagot agad. "It's my fault for thinking that you'll be smarter than this."

I gritted my teeth in anger. Only Zeus could admit his mistake and still find a way to wreck your esteem.

"As far as I'm concerned, you're the one who's engaged," I spat.

He evilly laughed. "You think your perception of this matters? You think you can defy me now?"

I closed my eyes and clenched my jaw. I wish I didn't know the answer to that.

"Finish whatever business you have. I'm moving your engagement," he calmly instructed.

Meanwhile, my head was a mess and my heart felt like it was going to explode any moment. Once again, I feel trapped and it had nothing to do with this tiny enclosed space.

"If this issue gets out and ruins my plans and my relationship with Giovann's family... you wouldn't want to know what I can ruin."

He was talking about Mama. It was the only card he could use against me anyway.

"It won't," I breathed out.

"It better not." He casually fixed the button on his cuff.

"Give me more time," pakiusap ko.

Napatingin siya sa akin dahil doon. He raised a brow. He didn't expect me to ask something from him.

"Please," I gritted the word through my teeth.

My father's face brightened but not in a good way. He seemed amused. "Did my daughter finally fall in love?"

Hindi ako nakasagot. It was like I was hit by a truck. I never really thought about my feelings for Hadeon. I like him, sure, but I refused to think more than that. I knew that what we had was meant to be temporary.
