Bestfriend

Y/N's POV 

My bestfriend and I walked into school causing everyone to stop and stare as they should

Nicki and I are the most popular girls in school. She was the pretty popular girl amd I was the bad ass of the school

Some kids ship us together but Nicki would shut it down and of course we had enemies but as long as we were together nothing could break us up or so I thought before she got a boyfriend 

My heart always ached because I was madly in love with this girl and to see her hug up on someone else but me had me absolutely jealous 

When we got to our locker -which were right beside each other- we saw her fuck boy of a boyfriend with a poster and flowers

I totally forgot that Prom is this Friday and that prompsals were going on... I didn't have a date neither was I gonna ask because I wasn't going

She let go of my hand and ran over to her boyfriend. I never like Meek in fact the two of us are enemies. He used to bully me back in Elementary school until I decided to fight back, I ended up giving him a concussion but I didnt care I was tired of him beating on me

Now he makes everything about annoying me and pissing me off but I try to be the bigger person and wall away

Anyway, when she ran over to her boy friend the other kids started awing amd cooing while I just stood there. Of course I want her to be happy but in my opinion her happiness is me

He went ahead with the proposal and she said yes jumping up and down before squealing and turning to face me her smile fell

"Y/N/N, I totally forgot that you don't have date. You can come with us" she suggested 

"To be a third wheel and watch you two suck each other faces off? No thanks" I said opening my locker

"Well control ourselves, please I don't want to be out having fun and your home bored as hell"

"I won't be bored. I'll have Netflix" I said smiling at the thought of my favorite series 

"Please?" She pouted hugging my torso which clearly was not okay with Meek, he pulled her back into him  

"Yeah it'll be fun" he chimed in

"I was gon' say yes but you spoke up so no I'm not going" I said and got my book for class before walking off to my class

Prom Night

I'm home now in my sports bra and a pair of sweat pants. I checked the time to see if I was late for my required time to the prom

'8:33 pm' 

"Let's get ready" I whispered before heading to the bathroom to get ready

Nicki was blowing up my phone and at the last call I answered even though I was pulling into the school's parking lot

"Yes Nik Nak?" I answered

"Don't Nik Nak me! Where the hell are you?" She yelled into the phone over the loud music 

"I'm at home, where else would I be?"

It was silent for while except for the loud music playing in the background 

"I just- I really wanted you here" she said 

"Aren't you having fun?" I asked quietly getting out of the car 

"Not really, I mean the music is good but...." I heard shuffling then a door close hen I realize the music isn't so loud anymore

"But?" I asked as I made my way into the auditorium where Prom was being held. When I walked in I muted the call so she couldn't hear me, I quickly made my way to a quite area before resuming the conversation 

"I want you here with me" her voice was slightly echoing making me a little confused before I looked around

I took in her appearance in her silhouette blue silky dress that hugged her curves

"Then turn around" I spoke up. She did and she gasped before a smile made its way to her face

She ran over to me and hugged me, I hugged back and just held her

"You little shit" she pulled away and hit my chest 

"Girl, I was gonna come when you asked, I just wanted to mess with you plus he was getting on my nerves" I chuckled

"Well I was upset with you not gon' lie but I'm glad your here now"

"You look good bubba" she said. It just so happened that we wear both wearing blue

"Nik Nak you know I hate that name" I groaned

"But you still let me call you that so stop complaining" 

"True amd you look even more beautiful" I said and leaned down to kiss her cheek

When I pulled away she was blushing and I smiled at her

"Prom King and Queen title goes to Meek and Nicki!"

I smiled down at Nicki and told her to go up there. The two went up before the host spoke up again

"I'm sorry there was a mistake. Prom King goes to Y/N Y/N is she here?"

Meek's smile fell as mine widened "What?! She ain't even a male" Meek yelled

"Its the votes that count now could you kindly give Y/N the crown please" 

He walked over to heatedly before taking the crown off, when he was in front of me he snapped the crown in half but I kept my smile

"At least I still have Nicki which you'll never take from me little dyke" he said

"Oh really?" I asked

"Yeah I said what I said" He replied and I nodded before making my way up to the stage taking Nick's hand and asking for the mic

"Can I get everyone's attention please" I said into the microphone, everyone stopped talking and the music died down 

Meek looked at me with a glare and I chuckled he had no idea what idea so about to do to him

"I know most of you ship us together and we would always shut it down but the truth is....this girl has my heart, I love her more than anything and I've been bestfriends with her for more than 15 years and I wouldn't trade this friendship for the world but right now I feel like I just have to get this off my chest" I said before turning to Nicki 

"Onika I love you more than best friends,  seeing you with him everyday only proves me more and more that I'm deeply in love with you. Whenever you laugh I feel my heart skip a beat and I can't keep denying this feeling anymore. I want to be with you, I want us to grow old together not as best friends but as lovers" 

When I finished my speech everyone was quiet anticipating her response

"Nicki if you don't kiss her I'll do it no cap!" Someone yelled

"I wish the fuck you would" Nicki yelled back looking in the crowd before pulling me into a kiss

The dream of her soft lips on mine was finally coming through, I smiled into the kiss and so did she before pulling away when we heard 

"Okay! Its time for the prom King and Queen dance"

Nicki and I danced to the songs they played stealing kisses in between songs. 

"Why haven't you ever mentioned that you were ideas love with me?" She asked

"I guess I was scared and nervous of your reaction"

"Well that's dumb because I've always loved you why do you think I'd always pick a fight with your girlfriends?"

"You you fought all my girlfriends from the 9th grade" I laughed "but why didn't you tell me?"

"I don't know, you always had a girl on your side, you were a fuck girl" 

"Well when you put it like that you make a god point" 

Prom was over and everyone was leaving

"I did what I did" I said as I walked pass Meek with Nicki hand in hand
