Normani's POV

I woke up with a sharp gasp for air, once I got my breathing to its regular state I looked at my glowing alarm clock and jumped out of bed

'That dream has been occurring way to often for my liking' I thought. A chill ran down my spine as my mind gave me a summary of the dream

'I have to get ready for class' I thought. You must be thinking what 24 year old is rushing to get to class. I'm talking about dance class, it's been my dream since I was ever so little to become a professional dancer and this is definitely a choice I would make over and over again

"Normani! You're gonna be late!" I heard my mother yelled from the other side of the door

Yes I still live with my parents and it's not as bad as people make it sound. It saves me money from paying rent, bills and buying food...well sometimes

Yes I do resent that I barely get any freedom but at least I still get to see my parents everyday because some people don't have that privilege

"I know!" I yelled back as I swiftly did my morning routine

I quickly got dressed and grabbed my dance bag. Since I was running late I knew I couldn't stop for breakfast so I just grabbed a bottle of ensure and a fruit snack to go with it

I was like a cheetah as I moved from the kicthen over to my mom and dad to give them a goodbye kiss to the cheek then dashing through the the door

Once I was at the car I started feeling around for my car keys and groaned when I realized I left them inside. Turning to the door I stopped with a thankful smile when I saw my mother walking towards me with my car keys with sipping on her morning tea

"Thanks mom" I said as I retrieved the set of keys

"Girl what happened this morning?" My best friend Ryan asked

Classes were done for the day and I just wanted to go home and relax in a warm bubble bath

"I woke up late" I said truthfully before bringing my water bottle to my lips. The cool water traveled down my throat in a refreshing manner which made me crave for more

"I'm leaving now. You want a ride?" I offered

"Thanks for the offer but my sister is picking me up today" she replied and I nodded

"This is your chance to finally meet her" she added

We've been best of friends since high we both started this class and that was 5 years ago and I still haven't gotten the chance to meet her sister.

Why? Because her sister is always at work that and she doesn't live with her so they don't see each other as much but they do stay in contact or as she would quote it 'She's busy making money or she's busy breaking hearts'

From what I can tell, her sister doesn't do relationships and has a different girl every night

"I would like that but it's my day to watch my niece so I kinda have to leave like right now" I answered as I grabbed my dance bag and phone

"Yeah it's alright I understand. You got aunty things to do" she said teasingly and I laughed at her humor

We hugged each other before I bidder my last goodbyes and left the studio. On my way to my car I bumped into someone causing me to stumble back a bit

"Watch where you're going" the person hissed

By the sound of the person's voice, I could tell that it was a female.
