Never Ending Love

Y/N's POV

"The famous Queen Bey has been spotted on her luxury yacht enjoying time with her precious family which includes rapper Jay-Z and daughter Blue Ivy Carter" the news reporter announced before a picture of the celebrity family was displayed on the television screen

I jumped down from the truck just in time to hear the Hollywood host making the announcement. My profession is a firefighter. It wasn't always my dream but I fell in love with it over time

My dad owns the station and as such I was hauled into the family business and the pay is great might I add

"Damn, Jay is one lucky ass man bruh" my partner spoke up and I sighed

"I still can't believe you were in a relationship with her" she added

I just nodded and made my way over to the refrigerator. Beyoncè and I were high school sweethearts, she was my everything and vice versa. By the end of high school Beyoncè started her career which caused us to drift apart mostly because of the long distance

We both had different plans but we had promise to always be there to support each other. We had big plans for the future and each of them consisted of us together

She knew me better than anyone hell she knew me better than I knew myself and it pained me that we had drifted apart but we both knew that her career path would put a strain on our relationship anyway

As if I wasn't already heartbroken, a few months later she was spotted hanging out with Jay repeatedly until the Internet started soaring with the two sharing a public kiss

I have yet to move on.... yeah it's been 5 years and counting. It's not that I'm not attractive cause trust me I am but it's Beyoncè we're talking about

"So...how'd your date go on Saturday?" Kehlani, my partner asked once she was beside me

Last weekend she had set me up on a blind date with one of her single friends which had actually turned out to be my cousin Michelle who was a former member of the group that raised Beyoncè to stardom; Destiny's child

We just ate dinner and caught up on what we missed out on. It was a decent evening

"You set me up on a date with my cousin" I chuckled

"Wait what?" She asked doing a double take on me

"Yeah, Michelle is my cousin. We grew up together but she left to go live with her mom when she turned 13" I explained

"Damn... y'all have some good genes cause y'all be fine as hell" she admitted and I smirked at her outburst

"You need to get back out there. You're holding yourself back, that shit ended years ago. It's time to move forward. We are going to the club to get lit after work, you should come, girls will be there and you know where ever girls are there are titties and ass" she continued wiggling her eyebrows at me

"I'll think about it" I answered and she grinned

The alarm went off and so to did the speakers 'Fire at 100 Parkland Avenue. I repeat, fire at 100 Parkland Avenue'

"Great, come pick me up at 8" she said just before rushing off to the truck

I wasn't far behind either as I grabbed my helmet and gloves

Beyoncè's POV

"Blue sweety it's time for bed" I called out from the stairs ways

"Noooooo" she whined from down the hall which means she's in the studio with her father

"Yesssssss" I answered matching her tone as I made my way to the room where she was

She was already in her pajamas and was seated around the piano with Shawn seated beside her

"Daddy tell mommy five more minutes" the five year old pouted as she looked over at her father

"Yeah, tell me 5 more minutes daddy" I mocked before glaring at him

"Mommy's right, it's bed time Blueblue" Shawn said

He stood up and picked up the five year old who's pout only deepened

"I'll put her to bed" he added and I nodded before going to our shared room

A few hours ago we came home from a breif and we'll deserved family vacation

Its not easy being me. I have to keep up with my job both being an entrepreneur and being an artist in the public eye not to mention being a full time mother. Even though Shawn is on the same level as I am and understands me but I know someone else who would just glance at me and tell me something that I'm feeling without me saying it out loud

I miss her

I haven't seen or heard from her since I started my career in Destiny's child but this has been my dream ever since I was young. Even though we've discussed it many times this isn't the future I thought of as it relates to my personal life - it was supposed to be her and I but I guess it's not life's plan for us

Sighing, I went towards the bathroom and had a relaxing shower. One of the many things I miss about Y/N is the way she makes love to me. Like Rihanna said, she 'makes me feel like the only girl in the world'

After my shower I made my way to my office. Not to do any work but to have some time to myself. As I walked in I switched on the lights and the darkness was immediately ambushed by the bright lights

I made my way to the couch before switching on the TV. The television came on and it was on the news, as I was about to switch the channel a familiar face popped up on the left side of the screen and my body perked up as my ears got alerted by the news reporter

"...in the apartment fire this afternoon. It has been reported that one of the firefighters Y/N Y/L/N, who is also the daughter of the Fire Cheif is in critical condition in St. John's hospital. According to her partner, Kehlani Parrish, Y/L/N turned back to save a 1 year old from the burning apartment even after receiving strict rules from her father not to as it was too dangerous..."

"Oh my God" I gasped at the information

'Wait...St. John's hosptial is here in LA' I thought

With that I grabbed my phone and dialed Julius as I ran up the stairs to get properly dressed. By the time I was ready, Julius was waiting by the front door

"Hey, where are you in a rush to?" Shawn asked as I passed him in the hallway

"Urgent matters" I answered. Well I didn't lie, it was urgent

I ran down the stairs before he could even answer

We both just looked at each other, having it being the first time we saw each other face-to-face in years
