The Check Up

Y/N's POV

My blaring alarm woke me up, making me groan but nevertheless I got out of bed and started my morning routine

Being a doctor is definately a handful but the pay is definitely worth it 

As I was getting ready my phone rang and I saw it was my boss

"Hello, Y/N can you do me a favor?"

"Uhm-"

"Great, I have to leave the country because of a family emergency and I have my regular client coming in today, can you do it for me please, she's one of the VIP patients" he aid cutting me off

"Well I wa-"

"Thanks so much" he said before hanging up

The audacity of this man calling my phone and not even giving me a chance to answer 

I finished getting ready and left my house to get to work. Once I got to work I went to my office and prepared for the day

"Ms. Johnson?" I asked as I walked into the waiting room

That was the name I was given of the VIP patient, she was my last client of the day. My other appointments were annoying and frustrating, I just hope this one isn't like the others

Soon I saw a short dark skinned woman walking up to me with shades on

Who wears shades at 6 in the evening?

Anyway I lead her into my office and closed the door once we got in

"I don't mean to be rude but where's doctor Davidson?" She asked sitting on the exam table 

As she did she crossed her legs and took off her shades leaving me astonished 

"Hey" she said snapping her fingers in front of my face "This is why I stick to my regular doctors"

"I am just as qualified as Dr. Davidson and in fact he was the one that called me and told me to take you as my patient today because he has a family emergency" I answered

I guess she will not be different from my previous clients today

She looked taken a back just a bit at my response but I ignored the look and got my clipboard to tick off the list as I did her check up

"Please take off your top so we can start" I said and turned to get a pair of gloves

When I turned around she was shirtless, only in her bra and her shorts 

I don't usually gawk at my patients body but I don't know what came over me. I was lost on her chocolate toned body and had to snap out of my trance by reminding myself I got work to do

"Let's take a listen to your heart" I spoke up and got my stethoscope. I placed the respective parts in my ear before placing the head of the instrument on her chest

I was a little confused when I heard her heartbeat beating at an above normal rate

I removed it and placed it at above different angle and nd it was the same

"Are you nervous?" I asked pulling away

"No...why?"

"Because your heart rate is above normal and there a little reasons behind it, it's either your nervous or you have anxiety from me being so close on you" I explained

"Yeah...anxiety" she said softly 

"Alright" I said and ticked normal heart rate on the clipboard "Now let's check your lungs"
