Alex's P.O.V.

"Willie, hey," I say, walking up to him.

"Hey, Alex," he smiles. My (umbeating) heart melts. "Who's this?"

"Oh," I hold my arm out. "This is Reggie. Reggie this is m- Willie."

"Hey," Reggie says. He points over his shoulder, "This is Lu- wait, where's Luke?"

"Oh," I look to the empty space where Luke should be standing. "I don't know."

Willie laughs lightly. "So, I thought we were gonna hang out, Alex?"

"Yeah, we were," I stammer. "But we have a question. About ghost things."

"Yeah, like how you taught Alex to hold stuff," Reggie says excitedly.

"Oh, you wanna learn some tricks?" Willie snaps and two police vehicles behind him start sounding their sirens. I see the two skateboarders they had stopped take off before Willie shuts the sirens off again.

"Well we were-"

"Guys!" I hear someone shout. Reggie and I turn around to see an angry Luke approaching us. "I went back to Dahlia's and you guys weren't there. What the he- oh," he pauses and looks at Willie. "Who's this?"

"Luke this is Willie," I introduce him. "Willie this is Luke."

"Hi," Luke says, reaching out to shake Willie's hand. I feel my mouth close tightly before I continue talking.

"We were wondering if there's a way to talk to lifers," I say. "There's an old friend of yours that kinda stabbed us in the back and we want to confront him."

"I'm sorry," Willie says. "Speaking to lifers is even out of my league."

I can feel my face show disappointment, even though I don't want it to.

"But there may be someone who can help you," Willie says quickly. "Just meet me where Alex and I met and I'll take you to him."

"Thank you," I say. "Thank you, Willie."

"Yeah, man," Luke adds. "We've just got to get to Julie's school dance by 9."

"That's great," Willie nods. "I'll see you guys at 8."

"Okay," I nod. I turn to Reggie and Luke, "I'll see you guys at home, okay?"

Reggie opens his mouth to say something, but Luke smacks his hand over his mouth. "You bet, buddy."

Reggie and Luke poof away, leaving Willie and I alone.

"I -uh- am sorry about them," I quickly say to Willie.

He laughs. "Don't worry about it."

"Did you still want to hang out?" I ask.

"Of course," Willie says. He throws his skateboard down and smiles back at me. "Keep up, hotdog."

I poof back into the garage. Luke and Reggie are standing at the piano, looking over something.

"Hey guys," I greet them.

"Hey, Alex," Luke says, only briefly looking up from whatever him and Reggie are leaning over. Reggie continues to stare at me, a smirk over his lips.

"What?" I laugh.

"How was your little date?" He wiggles his eyebrows. "What is it like? Kissing a ghost I mea-" Luke cuts him off by backhanding his head. "Ow!"

"We didn't kiss, Reginald," I say, feeling a heat behind my face that I know wouldn't appear as blushing. "And it's not dating. We just hang out."

Reggie makes a face and goes to open his mouth again before he gets cut off.

"Just shut it Reggie," Luke mumbles.

"I'm just saying," Reggie mumbles back.

"Well, do you guys know where Dahlia is?" I ask. I would much rather be talking to her, especially since she wouldn't be annoying about Willie.

"Getting ready for the dance," Luke says, pointing up toward the house. "We gotta meet up with Willie in like an hour though, so don't be too long."

I tighten my lips and nod, poofing to Dahlia's door. I knock before I hear Dahlia's voice say, "Come in."

I walk through the door to see Dahlia throw clothes onto her bed.

"What are you doing?" I laugh.

"Alex, thank god," she sighs. "I lost the shirt I was going wear to the dance tonight and now I don't know what I'm going to wear."

"What's that?" I ask, pointing to the shirt in her hand.

"This?" She holds it up to herself. It's a blue tank top with white flowers on it.

"That looks nice," I smile. "Wear it with this." I poke a plain black t-shirt and a pair of jeans.

"Hm," Dahlia looks at the outfit. "That actually might not be to bad."

"I'll give you some privacy," I nod, walking through the door

"I'll give you some privacy," I nod, walking through the door.

"Thank you!" I hear Dahlia call after, not too loud though. I know the constant fear of her dad overhearing her has been scaring her since we came around. I go downstairs and sit on the couch. I try to close my eyes and go to sleep before I remember that I'm kinda dead. I don't sleep.
