George POV. (Again)

I wake up in a room with white walls, white bed sheets, white everything. It's so bright. I have a splitting headache. I look up and see who I'm surrounded by.

Karl. Katie. Nick. Alex. Clay. I sit up taller, shocked.

"What... what?" I turn to Karl who didn't look pissed, more concerned.

"George, take it easy. You were in a crash."

"Fuck." I breathe, laying back down. "Ow!" I shout, rolling over to my side.

"You okay?" He asks, at my side. Katie is crying, Clay and Nick are staring at my, very little concern laced in their eyes. Like I'm a stranger.

"What the fuck are they doing here?" I give Karl panicked eyes. He gives me calming ones in return.

"They just wanted to make sure your alive." He eyes them angrily.

"Yeah well. I'm fine so they can leave now." I shoot daggers at Nick and Clay with my eyes. Clay looks pained.

"George... I-" I cut him off, pressing the nurse button.

"Yes?" She asks, entering my room.

"Get me out of here. I want to go home." I mutter.

"Okay, let's get you all checked out."

"Now." I snap. Nick, Clay, and Karl exchange surprised glances at my annoyance.

"Okay.. if your sure your alright?" She asks nervously.

"Yeah, I'm fine." I snap again.

"Okay, let me get you the discharge papers." She hums, moving out of the room.

"Okay." I mutter as I swing my legs over the side of the bed. I try to stand, holding onto the railing when I figure out my legs didn't choose to support me just then. I fall to the ground in pain.

"Fucking hell." I mutter under my breath.

"George, let us help you." Nick says nervously. "You may be a cheater, but-" I cut him off.

"Cheaters don't deserve help. Shouldn't even be living, huh." I scoff.

"Don't say that, George. I'm the only one here who knows your not a cheater." Karl says, glaring daggers and Nick.

The nurse walks in at that moment, gasping when she sees me on the floor.

"Yeah, I fell. Big deal." I mutter. "Thanks for the discharge forms."

"Uh.. yeah... do you have anyone to sign it?" I glance at Karl, who steps up.

"Yeah, I can." I mouth thank you to him, getting a nod in response.

"Alright sir, your free to go." She says, leaving the room.

"Come on, let's get out of here." I look at Karl who helps me pack up my stuff. I rip off my shirt, revealing my bruised and cut up chest. I yank on a tee shirt.

"George." Clay says in a louder voice, startling me. "Explain to me what happened."

I ignore him. Then I feel him grab my arm, me wincing and pulling away out of his grasp. He takes a step back.

"Ow." Tears threaten to sting my eyes as I hold my wrist, which was purple and brown. Like the rest of my fucking body.

"Sorry." He mumbles as Katie, Nick, and Karl leave the room.

I ignore him again, walking out of the room, down the stairs, and down to Karl's car. He follows quickly after me, which shouldn't be that hard considering I'm literally a human bruise.

I hear his footsteps behind me. I burst out the front doors, into the parking lot into the rain.

"Fuck." I mutter under my breath, my cuts stinging as rain plummets down on them. I hear careful footsteps approach me from behind.

I walk over to Karl's car, climbing into the back seat with Karl. Clay slides in the front next to Nick. I lean against Karl, resting my head on his shoulder. Clay peeks at me out of the corner of his eye.

"Um..." I start. Nick looks at me in the rear view mirror, Clay turns his head. "I'm moving out, I guess. Katie can still stay of course." Everyone starts talking at once.

"George you don't have to move out." Clay scoffs. Nick grins with him.

"I mean- he's a cheater so I wouldn't care either way. If he stays tho, just don't talk to me." He laughs.

"Okay." I answer strongly. "I'll pack when we get to your house." I say.

"Good. Go." He scoffs again.

The next few weeks of my life were a living hell.

Nick, Clay, and the rest of the table either ignored me or we're downright bitches to me.

"Hey, nerd." Nick shoves me into a wall as he walks by with Clay. Clay just looks the other way, of course.

"Hey asshole." I respond, grimacing. He laughs as he walks away.

I see Clay by himself after school, so I decide to walk over and do something I should have done weeks ago.

"Hey." I say, my voice dead. He turns around, looking surprised to see me.

"Uh- hey." He says back.

"We never actually broke up, so just letting you know I'm here to end it. Go date whoever the hell you want that's not broken." I turn on my heel, not bothering to hear his response.

He grabs my arm.

"Wait, George... can we please talk? It's been almost a month." He asks in a pleading voice. I felt myself suddenly have hope.

"Okay.." I whisper. "When?"

"Come over later. Please." I laugh.

"Nick won't want me in his house." I remark. He sighs.

"I don't care. I'll make sure he's out." He says. "Please?"

"Okay, then. See you at four?" I ask.

"Sounds good." He smiles a hopeful smile.

A light inside me flickers on, as I realize I still have feelings for Clay. Damn it. Oh well.

Four o'clock rolls around a lot quicker then I thought it would.

I stand outside of Clays house, nervous as hell. Maybe I shouldn't have come. What if it's an ambush? I sigh.

Fuck it.

I knock on his door, my hands shaking. This is it.

He answers after a few seconds, inviting me in with a smile. I look around, seeing nothing has changed since I've moved in with my cousin Jay. I've been living there for a bit after things went south.

He smiles. "Hey."

I can't help but give a small smile back. "Hi."

He shuts the door behind me leading me into the living room.

"So.. explain to me what happened in the bathroom." He says, sitting down on the opposite side of the couch.
