Chapter 55

That night, after dinner at that Andrews, Betty decided she wanted to sleep at jugheads. The two of them arrived at his apartment and as soon as they were through the door, jughead went straight to the bathroom. "Where are you going?" Betty asked, following him. "I'm running you a bath" he said simply. "You've had a bad day" he added and Betty's heart melted. "You don't have to do that" she said softly but jughead just waved her off. "You deserve it" he shrugged, kissing her head. "I love you so much" Betty sighed wistfully. "I love you too" he grinned, adding in some bath oils which he knew she liked. "Now, you relax and I'll be waiting with a movie" he told her, kissing her once more before leaving her to her bath. Once the door shut behind him, Betty couldn't help but feel her heart swell at how sweet jughead was, she felt incredibly lucky.

After relaxing in the bath for almost an hour, Betty changed into one of jugheads shirts and went to join her boyfriend on the couch. "Hi baby" he smiled as she tucked herself into his arms. "Hi" she smiled, pecking his lips. "Did you have a nice bath?" He asked, his fingers running through her hair. "Mhmm" she mumbled sleepily and jug chuckled. "Shall we head to bed?" He suggested, knowing she must be exhausted. "No..no I'm fine" she exclaimed. "Besides you wanted to watch a movie and I still have to journal" she explained; part of her recovery plan was to journal a bit about everyday, and then in one of her weekly sessions she will hand it over to jughead. "I can watch a movie in bed and you can sleep" he started, already pulling her up and leading them to his room. "And, you can journal in the morning betts" he assured and Betty nodded, not needing anymore persuasion before she fell asleep.

"Please get away from me!" "Help!" Jughead was woken up by Betty's distressed calls and felt her tossing and turning beside him; Waking quickly, he noted the time was 3am. "Betts, hey baby you're okay" he said softly, gently shaking her arm to wake her. "You're safe with me betts" he tried again and Betty's eyes shot open and she flung herself up, breathing hard. "Juggie..." she whispered, eyes wide in fear. "You're okay honey, I'm here" he said gently. "I...it..." she tried to say but jug pulled her close to him and rubbed her back. "It's okay, just breath with me betts" he told her, coaching her through some breathing exercises. "I...I dreamt about earlier" she said shakily. "I promise you're safe betts" jug said, cupping her cheeks so she could look at him. "I know" she nodded. "I don't think I can go back to sleep right now jug" Betty said after a while. "Okay" jug nodded, standing up from the bed and shrugging on a hoodie. "What are you doing?" Betty questioned, looking at him confused. "I'm going to make us hot chocolates" he smiled and before Betty could say anything else, he was out the room.

When jug came back, he handed Betty a mug of hot chocolate before climbing back into bed next to her. "You added marshmallows?" Betty grinned, looking up at him. "Of course" he laughed. "A hot chocolate needs marshmallows betts" he added and Betty giggled. "There's my girl" jug smiled as she laughed. "Thank you" Betty said as they sat in comfortable silence. "For taking such good care of me" she told him. "Betts, I love you" he exclaimed, taking her hand. "There's nothing I wouldn't do for you" he added. "I love you too" she smiled. "Can we watch a movie?" She asked him and he nodded. "Of course". "What do you feel like?" He asked as he grabbed his laptop from the side of the bed. "Erm...finding nemo?" She beamed and jug couldn't help but kiss her. "I'm dating a child" he teased and Betty playfully hit him. "I'm joking" he grinned, pulling her closer to him and kissing her head. "You better be" she grumbled into his chest, her eyes feeling heavy once again, taking comfort in her boyfriends scent and soft kisses.
