According to Ron and Harry, Firenze was a lot different to Trelawney. For one, he actually taught them. That wasn't their particular words, verbatim, but it was the impression she got. Apparently the herd had banished him for working for Dumbledore. She thought it was quite hypocritical of Magorian.

There was only one thing for it. She went to go see Firenze. He was in his classroom, and she had to admit it was pretty cool. It had a nice nature aesthetic to it that she enjoyed.

He looked up as she entered.
"Good morning, Miss Weasley."

"You know my name? Let me guess, Magorian?" Firenze nodded slowly. "Is it true they kicked you out of the herd because you accepted Dumbledore's offer to come here?"

"Yes." He told her.

"Well, that's not fair."

"We are a community. Humans have not always been kind to us."

"Yeah, but to be fair, humans aren't very kind to humans either. It's not an interspecies thing."

"Still, our kind is content to stay away as long as it protects our own."

"You disagree?"

"Times are changing." He told her she nodded.

"Happy birthday." Alex settled into a seat next to Blaise. They had transfiguration.

"Thanks." He said. "How are your apparition classes going?"

"They're fine." She told him. "Why?"

"I just... forgot you were older and took them." He said. "Till I saw people practice in Hogsmeade."

"Right, yeah. It's not so bad. I think I've got the hang of it."

"When's your test?"

"Next week."

"So soon?"

"It's been eleven weeks since the first class. I picked the earliest test slot."

"Do we get to be there? As your friends? Cheering you on?"

"I mean, I guess you can."

"Great." He grinned and faced the front. She rolled her eyes but turned back to the class.

Her next class was herbology. Professor sprout kept talking about the importance of their OWLs. It was freaking Hannah out until suddenly, she burst into tears afraid of how she'd fail. Alex looked over at Megan and they excused themselves to take her out. They headed to the dorms and Alex got out a draught of peace calm while Megan gently comforted Hannah. She noticed she was low on her supply. Leaving that as a problem for later, she turned back to Hannah and gave her the potion.

"Thank you." Hannah said "I'm sorry, I really freaked out."

"You'll be fine, Hannah. You're good at Herbology. And if we're honest, if anybody's going to fail it'll be Megan."

"No she won't." Hannah said as Megan playfully punched Alex on the shoulder.

"Hannah, it'll be okay. You're not going to fail herbology. Where's this fear coming from?"

"I want to be a healer." She admitted. "But I have to pass herbology and get my NEWTs in it to get an apprenticeship."

"You will. You're good at herbology. You just get worked up." Megan said.

"I'll just be okay when all this is over, I guess." Hannah let out a deep breath.

"Everyone gets nervous." Alex tried. "It's natural. But whatever happens, you will be okay. I think the teachers blow everything out of proportion."

"Yeah, the OWLs don't really dictate what options we have available."

"If I fail my exam, then I can't take it next year, and if I can't take it next year, I can't apply for an apprenticeship."

"You've never gotten less than eighty five percent in any of your herbology exams." Alex told her. "With your grades, you would have to actively try to fail to do badly in the exam."

"But-"

"Hannah, trust her. Her most annoying quality is that she's always right." Megan told her.

"I'm taking that as a compliment." Alex told her friend. Hannah smiled fondly at them.

There was another note between her potions note the next week. Snape asked her to stay behind. She pretended to spend a little longer packing up and assured Charlie she'd be right behind.

As soon as the last student has gone, Snape waved a hand and the door shut with a thud.
"Did I do something wrong that merits another telling off? From you especially? I thought I was supposed to avoid you."

"I thought it best if you knew." He started and she looked apprehensive at his expression. "Titus is leaving the country. A job opportunity overseas."

"Is it really an opportunity if you made it happen?"

"If you wanted to meet him, we could arrange for something. It would have to be soon."

"No." She said firmly. "The less he knows, the better. Besides, technically I've already met him."

"If you change your mind-"

"I won't. Not until Voldemort's gone, at least." Snape winced slightly and she faltered. "I should go. I have to feed Saph." He nodded and she walked away.

A/N- sneaky Snape, sending his brother out of the country. To be fair, his brother slept with the daughter of the most terrifying terrorist in the country who basically wants to eradicate the world of people like him.

Favourite line is "Her most annoying quality is that she's always right." Love Megan and Alex.
