At this point, I spent more time at Alastor's than I did at my own apartment. Curled up on the couch in the den, we at Chinese takeout and watched reruns of Hell's Idol. After dealing with one particular idiot who thought he could huff laundry detergent, I needed a night of relaxing and talking shit on tone deaf morons.
Leaning my head against Alastor's shoulder, I sighed contentedly. Without hesitating, Alastor turned and kissed my forehead, "Long day?"
"We definitely did not get some of humanity's finest." I replied, "I'm just glad it's over."
We lapsed into a comfortable silence for a while, the only sound the off key singing of a terrified looking imp. After he had been booed off the stage, I looked up at Alastor, "Are you happy?"
Alastor raised an eyebrow, "Of course, why wouldn't I be?"
I shook my head, "I was just wondering. It occurred to me that this is the happiest I have been in a long time."
Kissing my forehead again and then my lips, Alastor replied, "Good. Because this the happiest I have been in a long time as well."
