"I fail to see how that was considered horror," Alastor said as we sat in the town car on our way home.
"It's Rob Zombie," I explained, laughing, "He's definitely got his own thing going on."
We chatted about the movie for a while longer before falling into a comfortable silence. Laying my head on Alastor's shoulder, I watched the passing scenery out the window.
It seemed almost as if we were in our own little bubble safe from the chaos outside. There were drug deals, theft, and worse going on in plain view, but none of that could harm us as we went back to Alastor's house. It was almost as if we were just onlookers to the chaos going on and not an actual part of it.
"What's on your mind?" Alastor asked after a long moment of silence.
"Hmm, nothing really," I replied, just content to enjoy the moment, "It's just nice to not be in the middle of the chaos for once."
Alastor looked as though he was about to say something, but instead just nodded in understanding. We lapsed back into a comfortable silence for the rest of the ride, safe in our small bubble while chaos reined outside.
